Quote:Important Details - *Answer as applicable
  • Full Name: Takahiro Maeda
  • Current Rank*: Sergeant, Kusari State Police
  • Age: 54
  • Gender: Male
  • Place of Birth: New-Tokyo
  • Skills: Tactical planning, Diplomacy, Observation, Leadership.
  • Previous Employment History Samura escort pilot from 783 AS to 793 AS (which is how I gained the honorary title of Hogosha), recycled myself afterwards to the KSP spaceship division. Volunteered in the Kusarian Naval Forces reserve in 800.
  • Law enforcement, Military and/or Para-military History/Experience*: Spent 10 years as a Samura Escort, which gained me the title of Hogosha when I retired from this work. Volunteered in 800 to the Kusarian Naval Forces reserves. As a KSP, participation in several strikes against the Golden Crysanthenum black market, repelled several Outcast outbreaks, occasionally cooperated with the Kusarian Naval Forces against the Blood Dragons, long experience in trade interdiction. Having thoroughly studied the come and go patterns of smugglers, I have also filed several reports and developed several strategies in an attempt to intercept even more smugglers.

Q&A - All questions below must be answered.

What experiences do you have with fighter/bomber craft.
34 years piloting fighters, including the last 24 years serving the Kusari State Police spaceship division.

Why are you interested in joining the Hanta-Iseijin?
I am requesting a reassignation to the 113th for several reasons. It is easy to see the damages these Alien creatures caused the Houses 17 years ago. I know the menace they represent as well as how subtle they can get, and I believe that preserving our proud House from the influence of these creatures is a main priority, especially with these recent sighings of them through Sirius, as well as how they seem to slowly creep closer and closer toward Kusari. Not only this, but I firmly believe the 113th has the ability to make a difference in our house concerning terrorists such as the dreaded Blood Dragons and Golden Crysanthenums. I have witnessed the 113th in action, and I was impressed by how orderly they acted, as if they only had a single mind. I was given the title of Guardian several years ago, and I swore to protect our proud House with my life. I believe the 113th are now the true Guardians of Kusari, and it is why I wish to be reassigned.

Do you have a criminal record, or have been in trouble with Kusari law enforcement? If so, for what reasons?
None.

Do you have any skills, competences and/or personality traits that could be useful?
I have studied the criminal organisations of Kusari for now over 20 years, and I firmly believe that I am one of the most able person of Kusari in the domain of counter-smuggling, something that I believe I could benefit for the Hanta-Iseijin. I may be growing old, and my reflexes may not be the ones I had but I still am able to give a show to criminals. Through the years, I also had several occasions to develop a certain charisma, which is vital for me in my work when dealing with criminals to arrest them rather than murder them, as well as with officials, to influence them so they can share my point of views. During the wartime measures of 800, I also had at one point to lead what little men I still had at my disposal, so I do have experience in this domain as well.

What are the Hanta-Iseijin?
A covert ops unit which specializes in countering unlawful activities and alien threats. In reality, they are part of the Kusarian Wild, and are high placed enough in the Kusarian society to potentially infect the government.

What do the Hanta-Iseijin do? (Tasks, RP style, etc)
When being watched by the lawfuls, they act as normal Kusarian lawfuls, intercepting pirates, enforcing the laws, etc. They attempt to lift no suspicions about them, while they lure/trap more people into their ranks.
Why do we do this?
I'€™ll go with a Vanilla reasoning, to infect the upper spheres of the government/military so the Kusarian Wild can lead the House and weaken it for the Nomads to take over.

Tell me about your character.
Takahiro Maeda is all about the honor. The lower the odds of success are, the more he feels in his element. He is stern and very quick to anger, but he also abuses his position once in a while to get the job done. He'€™s not an orphaned son or anything like that; he had a normal childhood and a normal teenage, if but he grew up in an extremely traditional and misogynous atmosphere. Homeschooled, he had the urge to go out and explore as he grew up. As soon as he had his piloting license, he applied to become a Samura escort pilot. Pressured by his parents to do even more in his life, he quit after 10 years of service and was given the title of Hogosha, a title he cherishes, though he finds that the title is tainted by criminal organizations. Since he felt in love with fighters and had a decent record, he applied to join the KSP spaceship division. He was soon accepted and his policeman and counter-smuggler career began. His priority targets were Golden Crysanthenums smugglers, as they were gaining more and more members through the addiction of Cardamine in these years. When the Nomad war broke out, he volunteered to be part of a national defense squadron, though during this period he mostly was preoccupied upholding the law and order of Kusari as a policeman. When several of his superiors went MIA during the Nomad war, Takahiro assumed direct control of the police station he was operating from and requested an investigation to be led about these disappearances. He called out these investigations shortly after, though, since most of his men leading them also suddenly disappeared without a trace. With no clue of the ongoing events and barely with any men left, Takahiro kept following the orders he'€™d keep receiving from the KSP high command, which he considered suspicious at times, but considered that they were only part of wartime measures. When the war ended, he abused of his position to gain access to certain archives, but the only information he got about the wartime measures is that they were all issued by the now-deceased Governor Tekagi himself rather than by the Kusari Naval Force high command.

He returned to his regular policeman duties afterward, and has since then mostly operated against blockade runners, Outcasts and Golden Crysanthenums. When the war broke out against Bretonia, he did not volunteer this time in the KNF as he was already waging his own war against Cardamine and believes that any second not dedicated in countering smugglers will lead to another Outcast outbreak into Kusari.

Have you read AND understood the server rules of discovery? (If no, go read and try again)
Yes.

Have you really?
Yes, really.

Then explain why the following rules are important:
3.1: Swearing in my opinion is somewhat immature in itself, even more so when people abuse of it. I believe that this rule exists so Discovery remains a civil place.
3.3: It ruins the atmosphere, especially when it is system wide or local. Of course, green and pink chats are different under certain circumstances, and someone'€™s house being on fire is a good enough reason for me to OORP shortly, but elseway it simply breaks immersion. We'€™re playing characters, not people trying to figure out what you should eat for dinner.
3.4: Threatening is childish, and rule-lawyering ruins the atmosphere. If you have an issue with someone, deal with it either in-RP, in private while expressing yourself as clearly as possible, and if all else fails, write a report so the proper authorities can deal with the issue. We'€™re players, not administrators; it is not our job to deal with troublemakers, but to have fun.
5.2: There is a motive behind everything. Of course, I don'€™t expect someone to explain the entire story of why the Corsairs are evil to his eyes, but roleplaying before gives both sides a chance to share their piece before shooting up. This in itself sometime disrupts combat, if both sides figure it'€™s better not to fight each others for X reason.
5.6 to 5.8: When you'€™re dead/fleeing/whatever, you'€™re out of action. If these rules wouldn'€™t exist, then the Roleplay atmosphere would be ruined as well. What'€™s the goal of fighting an enemy if there can be no decisive winner in a fight? Not only that, but it allows both parties to calm down and not take the fight personally by being humiliated over and over.

Describe your experience of Kusari in 2-5 Lines.
I'€™ve spent lots of time as a Hogosha, mostly in a Ryuujin. I'€™d move from lane to lane and spit at outsiders and the sort, while licking the boots of the lawfuls. Often siding with the lawfuls, I am aware of the laws of Kusari, its politics, etc.

Have you ever been sanctioned or banned for violating a server rule in the last 6 months?
No.

On a scale from 1-11 how would you rate your in-game Role-playing skills?
10, there'€™s always place for improvements.
