some people like the incentive way - to show how they can win
others like to harrass - to show them how they loose
but - its up to those who apply it. - some people even like to do nothing of that sort at all - and leave others to remain how those others like to be. - not everyone wants to change others. changing others is often used to display dominance of sorts - an urge to be "better" than others in mind and ways. changing others means that you have the power to change them - but playing that power may not always be beneficial. - especially if the urge to show others "the way" is applied no matter what.
there is a difference between:
- employee A just joined one of those fancy gangs, who re friends with the supervisor - they re going bowling - and still need more for the team - so he tells employee B - "why not join in, - they re all cool, and you make friends with influencial people!"
or
- employee A mobbing employee B for not being in the same gang. and telling his supervisor "you know, employee B is a really shady type, you might wanne check what he s doing .... "
in both examples - employee B might see the error of his ways and join the gang. - either through positive incentive - or threats.
