Anywho - The learning curve for effective flak cannon usage is quite steep, but it is possible to use it to good effect (just incredibly difficult, and it doesn't look good on your resume). As Mudd said, you're best off chainfiring (shooting your primaries one by one in rapid succession) primaries for saturation fire instead of using solaris turrets which, if you do use them, pretty much ensures that you're screwed against other same class ships that aren't using a solaris loadout.
Even worse, Solaris have a 1k range.
On a large BS, you cant shoot your own length, much less HIT a bomber.
Even with BS primaries, bombers have a range advantage.
Basicly, BS solaris are one of those 'why did y'all waste space with these' weapons.
