To be fair, you say pirates are only taking cash to get rich, I say you're only demanding that they take cargo so you lose less when you're pirated. If every pirate had to take cargo, all you'd see is p-trans and rabas everywhere, and you'd never have cargo. Ever. You'd lose everything rather than a few million in profit.

Except you seem to forget that pirate bases aren't the best prices for anything. The trader stands to make a lot of cash on a single gold ore run, the pirate can make next to nothing on it. So how is it more profitable to take cargo?
