[Dopamino]

The following is meant as an intro to a game idea I have been toying with. A spin off of the FL game. My game is set in the time after FL in Trents pre-retirement years. Tell me what you think so far.
Edison Trents story is one filled with tragedy and heartbreak, His abusive father left Edison and his cardamine-addicted mother when he was only 4, she did not notice for almost 6 months. Edison learned early he needed to act for himself and quickly if he wanted even a scrap of food. He found he could always find a little money in his mothers pocket book if he could just stay awake long enough to sneak in and search for it after she had passed out or was busy with that nights distraction (not always male, not always alone, not always humanoid,), if not, surely there was something in one of their pockets.
By the age of 10 His mother had had enough! Who did he think he was, sneaking into and selling her stash just to pay the rent! So tossed aside like a used cigarette butt
Edison found himself alone on the street with just himself to fend for. He quite frankly found it much easier and scolded himself for not leaving earlier.
Poking around in a dark alley one day behind a barrel he chanced across a loose plank in the side of a building, climbing inside found him in the back room of a machine shop, Tobiass new and used spacecraft parts and service. A week passed and Tobias started to get a feeling something was off. The hammer he was sure he had tossed across the shop last night after having hit his thumb, for the third time, was back on the wall in its cradle. Had he retrieved it? No, he did not even remember what direction it had gone. And was it his imagination or was the whole shop looking just a little more orderly today? Hmmmmm
Next day Tobias came into the shop an hour early and found the boy sheepishly looking up at him with a broom in his hand. Being quite tickled that some one would break into his shop and clean it, what could he do but take the boy on as an apprentice.
Tobias being an old softy took to the boy right away and soon found he had a real aptitude with tools and a winning way with customers and a talent for solving problems. The next 11 years went by with out much difficulty until that day.
Tobias had been looking forward to this day for over two weeks! It was Edisons 21st birthday and he had a big surprise for the boy. He was going to make Edison a partner and had gone as far as to buy a bottle of champagne too commemorate the occasion. He ran into to find the place empty, with a note tacked on the door with his name on it. The note was to the effect about deal of a lifetime, one-shot load of ore to be piloted to Freeport 7 for a million credits. He was sorry to leave so abruptly but he would write when he could. Tobias crushed, dropped the champagne into the trash.
