In general:
I am more then happy with what we have. If you want more learn how to do the dev tasks, I also am willing to learn some basics. Or start to pay the Devs. Our Devs are a way too good for non professional game programmers, that's why our community is really demanding on them- because they think that everything is easy and possible to do.

In my work I work with 3 engineers- I do strategic marketing analyses on very complicated parts of atom reactors that my firm sells, as economist I have no idea about the technical part- but the good organization helps a lot- when I hit some wall there is always someone to help me and guide me. I find the current situation similar- we have 2-3 really good Devs but they cannot handle the brutal amount of bugs so fast- it is normal and understandable.

However I am also sure that there are ways to improve the whole process:

Devs could organize the work by difficulty, since there are a lot of capable people that can do the basics-
even if I have little to no idea of programming( basic HTML, some statistic programs understanding, casual excel user- typical economic stuff- pivos, macros...) I am quite sure that I could do the ugly work. Like in the other topic about docking- it is not that hard to add already written FLhook plugin to Stations or remap hard points- it just require other level of organization.

With the example above- the community wanted all heavy capital ship slots to be in the first 1-6 gun slots so they could be manual fired and easily chain fired- it is reasonable demand but since it is large amount lot of simple work it becomes secondary task so the primary devs can do the more urgent issues, if we had secondary level of devs they would do it meanwhile.
In order to get my point check this matrix:

I know that you have good ticketing system but adding layers to it- with difficulty tasks would make it to work better, combine that with the more experienced devs working only on the most complex tasks and writing understandable tutorials for the simple tasks that are time wasters for their level but at the same time interesting for casual players like me.

(yes, i've seen enough of those lolduels, where house military with overwhelming force on the field willingly loses a pilot in a duel. ffs.)
