zoners - my suggestion

I won't go into the reasons why this old military veteran chose the RP that I did instead of being some sort of soldier somewhere. It's in another forum. Rather, I will remind people my Zoner belief.

I performed my RP with the principle of "when a group has so many diverse neighbors, many of whom are fighting the other, we had to give a little to each to keep things quiet." We did that. Food to the Sairs, consumer goods to the Outcasts and other non-military goods to other various factions. I didn't see a problem with it as it allowed us to co-exist.
However, maybe the advice I once received from another player who RP'd a Molly was right, "neutrality means giving nothing."
I see these two parallels as a double edged sword. If we give something to all, their rivals decide that we have "picked sides" which isn't true. If we give nothing, as in not delivering food to Crete then it is reason to make a full scale assault. This was also the case for some house governments if we did or didn't do something.

I had many people that I respected and RP'd with many times in these rival factions. I RP'd with you, Zelot, numerous times and we always seemed to respect the other. I would say the same of Dennis Jameson and of the late Sprolf who led the Mollies and Alvin Katz of the SCRA. Until a few days ago, it worked. It only took the emergence of a couple of players to unravel all of the RP that I had worked on.

So yea, Doc will be around but in what capacity I don't know yet. Obviously, the old way no longer works and pacifism doesn't fly so it seems. Would I like to see this recent onslaught resolved? Of course but how and to what end I don't know. Give me time with the thought and I'll think of something. One thing I could never do well was make quick decisions. When I sit on them for a few days and let it soak in a bit, I do much better.
