The Biography of Tereus Mitchell

Prelude: 700 A.S. to 798 A.S.-Classified Location, Unknown Space.

The story of Tereus Mitchell starts at a classified research and development facility in a remote area of the Sirius Galaxy, which until recently was completely cut off from the four great houses. Tereus was born from a clandestine government research operation whose sole purpose was to create genetically conditioned, and perfectly loyal super soldiers. The ruling government entity foresaw the need to create a large military presence, one which would have a genetic advantage in terms of intelligence, strength, immunity to disease, endurance, etc. While these soldiers would need to be a cut above the rest, it was also necessary that they would be impartial, obedient, and have scaled down emotions so they would feel no fear, and would not easily be swayed by outside influences. The first seventeen batches failed.

It was found that because these genetic super soldiers were so, advanced, in terms of human evolution, i.e. intelligence, strength, etc, that they had a predisposition of disdain for their handlers. These soldiers viewed their masters as, inferior, and they staged a revolution. They failed, and subsequently all seventeen original specimen batches were killed, and their DNA was archived, while their bodies were systematically destroyed by incineration as per protocol. After many years of research, and failed trials, the scientists at this facility finally succeeded in creating a genetically enhanced specimen worthy of mass creation, and capable of becoming this governments super soldier. After an approval from the then in charge of the ruling government, mass production and training of these specimens was begun...

While in theory, Batch 2642 Delta was the answer that the researchers, and the government had been looking for there was one significant and irreparable flaw. While right out of the tank these specimens were indeed faster, stronger, and smarter, they aged abnormally slower then the typical Sirian. While this initially did not seem like a problem, it would eventually become one.

Specimens created from Batch 2642 Delta were pre-aged to roughly three years of age due to studies done on Batch 2642 Alpha, showing that this was the optimal age to begin the education process. A significant flaw to Batch 2642 Alpha and Beta had been corrected in Batch 2642 Delta, in which the mass amounts of knowledge being essentially downloaded into the infants mind, created split personalities in 45% of the batch, which resulted in schizophrenia, paranoia, and psychotic bouts. Batch 2642 Charlie corrected this character flaw with a 99.5% success rate, however caused significant slowing in the aging process, roughly 5 years to every 1 normal Sirian year. This was immediately recognized as a serious problem, as many of the original researchers were long dead, and their research was being carried on by clones, or by younger generations of scientists. It had been discovered early on in the research program that the knowledge stored in the DNA of the initial researchers greatly sped up the research process, instead of searching through a lifetimes worth of research data and notes.

Batch 2642 Charlies DNA structure was upgraded in Batch 2642 Delta, and the abnormal aging was corrected to 3 years to every 1 normal year. Unfortunately the scientists were unable to correct it further, and a chain of events led to a halt in research and development, and turned the priority to training and deployment. This turning of events was a coup de tat against the current government, and threatened to tip the balance of power throughout the entirety of the Sirius Galaxy.

Batch 2642 Charlie, and Batch 2642 Delta were the first to see live combat out of all the specimens created. Even though Batch 2642 Delta was pressed into service earlier then anticipated, the ensuing fire fights, and clandestine incursions helped to weed out the weak of the batch, and to hone the abilities of the specimens, through real life experience.

Approximately 798 to 803 A.S. - Early Years of development: Classified Training Facilities, Unknown Space.

This is where the official story of Tereus Mitchell starts. Specimen number 235 of Batch 2642 Delta, his early years were restricted to sleep learning the bulk of what normal Sirians learned through out their early years. After completing download of Sirian history, basic and collegiate education, and pre-exodus history, Delta 2642-235 was subjected to both daily physical conditioning, and sleep learning military tactics and drill and ceremony. Upon completion of basic conditioning at the equivalent age of six, by normal sirian years, five years by specimen years, Delta 2642-235 began advanced combat and maneuvers training.

At this point in time Delta 2642-235 was subject to daily conditioning, field exercises, and live fire scenarios. In this point of training, there was still a failure rate of 15.7% overall per batch, however it was deemed acceptable. Failure rate was determined by genetic abnormalities outside the allowed percentages, specimens weeded out due to strength, intelligence, or agility deficiencies outside the acceptable parameters, and those who were weeded out due to injury, illness, or death resulting from the rigors of training. There was a small percentage, under .02% that died from unknown causes in their sleep, or just dropped dead in classroom, or on the field for no apparent reason. Delta 2642-235 passed, and was placed within the top 2 percentile of his batch. The way that hierarchy worked within batches was based upon a specimens percentile placement, a specimen was sorted and assigned a duty based off of its performance rating.

Specimens with a rating of 40% or below were assigned menial tasks such as maintenance, cleaning, or in extreme cases, target practice. Specimens with a 41 '€“ 50% rating were circulated to regular military units, both naval and infantry, and still performed significantly better then their Sirian Peers. Ratings of 51%-65% were assigned duties varying from combat pilots to capital ship gunners. Ratings of 66%-70% were given NCO rankings amongst their peers, and assigned duties based off of their primary specializations, i.e. Marksmanship, tactics, land warfare, navigation, space warfare, etc. A rating of 71% - 80% were offered standard commissioned officer positions, and were assigned to fleet positions, often as a support officer to a seasoned captain, but occasionally as a senior officer themselves. A rating of 81%-85% automatically sorted specimens into advanced training, leaning towards intelligence, and clandestine operations, 86% - 90% yielded a specimen the ability to be placed in a covert / special operations unit, and continue advanced training, to include specialized equipment, and interference training. 91% - 94% guaranteed a specimen continued education, and an NCO position upon placement into a regular fleet or ground covert / special operations unit. 95% -97% guaranteed you an officer position upon assignment to a fleet or ground duty, not especially related to covert / special operations, but often relating to these specializations. 98% - 100% were forced into advanced training that yielded a failure rate of 46%. Upon completion of this training, which essentially boiled down to survival, specimens were assigned a rank based off of performance, and assigned to a unit consisting of specimens attached directly to the head of the government.

Approximately 812 A.S. - Kusari / Bretonia Wars '€“ Base of Operations: Classified, Unknown Space.
Clandestine Incursions: Various Locations within Bretonia and Kusari Space.

Delta 2642-235 completed his advanced training with a percentage of 91, which entitled him to a rank of Captain. He was promptly assigned to a covert unit within the government, tasked with carrying out clandestine operations Sirius Wide. His current age, according to Sirian Years at this time would place him at 15 years of age, approximately 5 years of age according to specimen standards. Up to this point Delta 2642-235 had been in training for roughly 9 normal Sirian years. He was placed in SGM Team 1, a primary operations unit within Clandestine Operations, consisting of 24 members. Under direct command of Charlie 2642-15, the leader of SGM Team 1, Delta 2642-253 was given an auxiliary command position of squad 3 of Team 1. Under his command was Delta 2642-265, a lieutenant, Charlie 2642-189 a Sgt. Major, and Delta 2642-278, a staff sergeant.

The details of incursions and events that Delta 2642-235 was involved in during the Kusari and Bretonia war have been convoluted by the kusari and bretonia military who saw them in action. The specifics of these incursions will probably never be fully revealed to the majority of Sirius, and have since been suppressed by Delta 2642-235. It is known that it was during the war that SGM Team 1 received their nickname. SGM Team 1 was dubbed Jin Roh by the Kusari Military, which loosely translates to Wolf Brigade. The name was given in part because of the glowing red eyes of the team members powered heavy battle armor, and also because of the ferocity and ruthlessness in which they carried out their missions. It was said that these red eyed animals were carried in on the wind, and that when they arrived they unleashed supernatural devastation and cataclysmic destruction upon the battlefield.

At this point in time, SGM Team 1 was using various advanced technology, decades ahead compared to the four great houses of Sirius. At the time, SGM Team 1 was rumored to have both equipment and personal cloaking capabilities, as well as advanced jamming and communication systems. It was said that prior to the appearance of the Jin Roh there was an almost deathly silence on the communications systems, and the battlefield had a highly ozonated tinge to it.

The Bretonian military files from this time period also make note of red eyed devils, and unexplained activity on the battlefield, however the reports mention them as the Demonic Hands of Justice, sweeping across the battlefields and plowing through the kusari forces like The Grim Reaper himself. It has been speculated that SGM-1 was used to destabilize the Kusari Military and Economy, due to threatening technological advances. While there are no declassified records released by the Kusari Government, It was thought that Kusari had been working on advanced mechanized units which could employ stealth technology, but no evidence has ever been produced.

It was rumored that Kusaris government had been compromised around 800 A.S. and this silent coup had been a major part of the events leading up to the war with Bretonia. Officially the Kusari / Bretonia War had been flared to ignition due to Bretonia taking over Tau 29 and Tau 31. Unofficially, Kusari had been compromised by outside beings, and had been developing advanced technology, to include instantaneous jump drives, stealth and cloaking technology, and advanced weaponry. It was during these trying times, starting prior to 800 A.S. and lasting to well into 814 A.S. that the Wolf Brigade was rumored to have been ordered to clandestine actions against the Kusari Government, however any access to these alleged files would be denied due to a 404 error, leading many to believe that such events were just rumors. Nevertheless the rumors continued to grow and spread through out Sirius regarding these Red Eyed Demons of the battlefield.

Approximately 816 A.S. to Current Times Liberty / Rheinland Wars '€“ Base of Operations: Classified, Unknown Space.
Clandestine Incursions: Various Locations within Liberty and Rheinland Space, Emphasis on Rheinland.

Delta 2642-235 was roughly 6.5 years of age by specimen years, and 19 by normal Sirian Years at the beginning of the Liberty and Rheinland war. It was at this point in time that He had been given his first senior command. After a little over four years of fighting with SGM-1, based out of The Errant Venture, Delta 2642-235 had been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. It was also during these 4 years that he had been granted the right to choose a name, and be referred to as that name, instead of his batch and number. All surviving member of the original SGM-1 unit had been granted this right, because the officer who replaced Charlie 2642-15 post mortem said that it was too damned confusing using numbers to designate them. From that time on, Delta 2642-235 was designated Tereus. The surviving two members of Squad 3, Delta 2642-265, who chose to be called Zachary, and who had since been promoted to Captain, and Delta 2642-278, who chose to be called Tyler, and who had since been promoted to Lieutenant, remained under the command of Lt. Colonel Tereus.

During the first two years of the Liberty / Rheinland Incursions, Many replacements were sent to The Errant Venture to restock their ranks. The legends and whispers of the Wolf Brigade had reached all corners of the Sirian Galaxy, however it was during these early years, that they were rekindled. The Rheinland Military referred to these Red Eyed Demons as The Helghast, which in their native language loosely translated into Ghostly Plague. This nickname, The Helghast, had been given to SGM-1, because on the battlefield they seemed to materialize out of no where, raining death and destruction upon the Rheinland ranks, then vanishing into thin air.

By this time the technology used by Tereus and his team, had far surpassed that of what had been used at the beginning of the Kusari / Bretonia Wars. This was credited largely to all of the intelligence and research data that had been confiscated from the infected Kusari, and throughout other raids on military facilities. It was also around this time that Gallia had been discovered by the rest of Sirius, due to the traitors known as The Council. It was also around this time that information about the Sirius Grey Men based in Gallia had been released from an unknown leak within the Sirius Grey Men themselves.

At this point in time, it was discovered that Gallia, being the most resource rich part of the galaxy, had kept itself secret and guarded after being left behind in the exodus. A group of entities, known as the Sirius Grey Men had been funding the research and development going on at the secret labs from which Tereus had come. It was also made abundantly clear, that the research, technology, and intelligence stolen during the early years of the Rheinland / Liberty Wars, and Kusari / Bretonia wars was being used to create better and stronger technology for the greater Gallia Fleet.

It was also found that the engagements that Tereus had been involved in, were in anticipation that The Council was going to try to establish contact with the rest of Sirius. The hopes was that by fueling the conflicts between the other 4 houses, would dwindle their resources, making it easier to invade, and gain control in the near future.

Unfortunately The Council had made contact with the rest of Sirius, and the Secret of Gallia was no longer a secret. On top of that, the discovery of the technological advances that Gallia had, even if many of them, were far inferior compared to the Sirius Grey Mens, posed a threat of invasion into Gallia from the outside in a power struggle for the vast resources it held.

The Sirius Grey Men ultimately blamed all of its operatives in Sirius for the leak, or rather for not stopping the leak of information before it happened. As such many of its operatives were called back to Gallia for formal debriefing.

817 to 818 A.S. '€“ A Turn of Events Location: Undisclosed

It was also during these early years of the war that Tereus had received another promotion, giving him the rank of Colonel. It was around this time that he had adopted Mitchell as a surname. Tyler and Zachary had also been givern surnames. Due to their closeness both batch wise, and in physical appearance, they were given Marshall and jokingly referred to as the Twins. At the end of those 2 years, Tyler had been promoted to the rank of Captain, and Zachary had been promoted to the rank of Major.

Starting sometime around 818 A.S. there was a brief time in which Tereus had allegedly been in command of his own SGM team, however there is limited, and convoluted evidence, and the truth has never been substantiated. It is known that for a short while, Tereus was seen in the company of an Human Replica Droid named Kurani-HRD, a young Lieutenant who went by Calego, and several others, including an allegedly insane person known as H.M. Murdock.

It is however known that starting around 818 A.S. Tereus and company disappeared off the grid. It was later released that Kurani HRD had been given her own command, allegedly. She has not been heard from since. Major Zachary Marshall was documented as Killed in Action after being given a command somewhere in Rheinland Space. Captain Tyler Marshall had been re-assigned and has since not been heard from. Lieutenant Calego had also been re-assigned and has been formally recorded as Missing In Action, however his last whereabouts, and his mission have yet to be released. Captain H.M. Murdock had been re-assigned.

Around 818 A.S. Tereus Mitchell disappeared off the grid, along with The Errant Venture. It was rumored that he had been recalled to the newly discovered Gallia. It was also rumored that he had been killed...

Present Day - Discovery of Gallia / Uncertain Times. Location: Liberty System, New York

Colonel Tereus Mitchell, stretched his arms, and let out a yawn. He had been piloting his heavily modified Spatial for 58 hours straight. His trip back into Sirius had been wrought with close calls, and near disasters. He cut his engines and began a docking maneuver with a floating piece of debris in one of the many debris fields that existed in the New York System. He set his ship down inside one of the larger pieces of wreckage, and powered down into stealth mode. As He finished making final adjustments, He let his eyes close, and his mind drifted off into one of the many past battles He had participated in, and sleep overcame him swiftly.

In His mind He was 12 again by standard Sirian Years. He was on the training grounds outside the facility. It was nighttime, and he gripped the handle of His weapon tighter, in anticipation of the raid that was about to commence on the enemy encampment'€¦He watched as He toggled his night vision on his battle suit...A red signal flare shot into the sky from his left...the raid had begun. He watched immobilized as this younger version of himself rushed into battle, spurred forward by the intimidating yelling of their instructors. Gunfire arced from one of the defense bunkers surrounding the encampment. Tereus raised his rifle and let off a short burst. The defender dropped to the ground lifeless, face hidden by the armored mask. No mercy, besides they were training droids anyway, all previous engagements had been against droids...

Outer perimeter breached, continue to main objective, the comm. spurted. Tereus ducked behind cover as two of his fellow cadets were mowed down by fire. Strange.. they just laid there. They would never pass by laying on the ground. No matter, he thought, My mission is clear, get to the main structure and secure the intel. Tereus watched as his younger self darted between cover, from building to building, checking corners, and staying in the shadows. Another stream of fire opened up on him as he darted to the last building, he watched as the training rounds hit the ground, throwing up clouds of dirt as they hit. Tereus waited under under cover until the training droids reloaded, then he broke cover, took a deep breath, and held it to steady his aim. Two Tangos, second level, he exhaled, slowed his breathing, and fired two short bursts at chest level. The two training droids dropped from the second floor, hitting the ground with a thud.

Tereus felt his blood pressure rise as he continued to watch his past continue to play out like a holovid. This was all so familiar, but what was the point of this? Why was He watching this? What was the point...Oh no, no, not this..

Tereus watched as He breached the main level of the target building. This is Delta 2642-235 I have breached the target structure, continuing to main objective, he spoke into the comm.

Acknowledged Delta 2642-253, proceed to objective site, your peers are not far behind. Command out.

Tereus was in His younger body now. He could taste the perspiration in his mouth, that salty sensation. He could feel the anticipation building within himself as he slowly ascended the stairs, gun at the ready, awaiting a trap or ambush from these pesky training droids. Halfway up the stairwell, he stopped to attach his silencer. He still had the element of surprise and he was not about to lose the advantage, in the event he had to down another one of these clankers. After a brief pause, he continued his slow, quiet movement up the stairs.

Tereus could feel his heart beating faster and faster, as his body moved uncontrollably toward the door to the control center...

No...Not This...Tereus watched as He opened the door with one hand, and then as the stun grenade left his hand as he tossed it into the group of droids in the room.

Tereus watched, his heart racing like a cheetah thruster, *bang* the grenade went off, he breached the room, raised his rifle, and fired, taking down three of the four droids in the room. The three bodies hit the floor, he turned, aiming at the last droid, and pulled the trigger'€¦*click*, *click*, *click*, He was empty, a rookie mistake...The last droid turned, but it looked human...Oh no...

*Boom*, another stun grenade went off...

Wait, No, Hold Your...*Crack*, *Crack*...

Tereus Woke up in a cold sweat, clenching a knot in his chest. He grabbed the anesthetic applicator He kept on his waist, stuck it to his carotid artery, and pulled the injector trigger. He was out before the applicator fell from his hand...

Ahh, his body let out a sigh, blissful, dream free sleep...

The reports of my trying to imitate the revered Michal Golanski are greatly exaggerated...my avatar should prove this.
