@ Shryke - while I understand what you mean, I never had any interest in belonging myself in IND while I do know some players playing there.

Thing is that you will never find an IND player breaking game rules ( not rp rules ) or whining to admins because they got shot by pirates or anything like that. IND is invite only and even if IND player screws up you know who can you complain to.

That is not the case with factions that aren't invite only and that is why invite only factions will always have benefits should they prove to be responsible.

I fully agree that IND behavior is impeccable. However, I can say that about many factions that use a standard ID that anyone else can pick up and be an independent. Furthermore, these "regular" factions are also invite only. Just because you can apply for them doesn't make this false. Applying merely shows interest, its up to the faction to invite the player to be a part of it. Hell, the SCRA is invite only, yet I applied and got accepted. Just because you can't apply for IND they get the special sauce on their cheeseburger?

Also, as far as conduct being reason for gameplay advantages, that just spits in the faces of the myriad of solid players that play independent characters very well but are not given such preferential treatment.

Again, not ragging on the IND or any other so-called invite only faction. But nerfing the Zoner ID due the idiocy of lolwutters its just bad form. Why hasn't the LN and LN Guard ID been obliterated into oblivion since I've ran into far more LNS sporting crackerjacks than Zoner whales.

Basing any sweeping decisions and rules on account of a few bad apples is simply idiotic.
