BBC News: Live Speech from the Studio

[Wolfs Ghost]

"Good afternoon, this is a live coverage of an event happening at the BBC studio, we've been informed that the former Commander, and once fugitive, Austin Goodman is giving a live speech addressed to the people of Bretonia. Infact, here he comes now."

A uniformed man enters the room, and the camera quickly turns on him and follows him to the stage. Adorned on the collar were two butterflies, the Goodman families emblem, other then that, the dress uniform had nothing else on it. Austin put his hands on the podium and took in a deep breath.

"I'd like to first state that I'm not back on active duty, and that this..was the only nice outfit I had."

In the background a couple of people laughed. Austin cleared his throat and stood straight.

"As you may know, I've been formerly convicted of crimes that I am shameful about, and as you may know, those crimes have been lifted. I stand before you as a mere human being, you can listen to my words or you can ignore them. I'm sure many of you saw me as a hero before my sudden down fall, and I'm sure all of you feel indifferent towards my situation as it is now."

He sighed a bit and looked over to his left for a brief moment before turning back, "I'm going to speak the truth, the story from my point of view, seeing as I requested a decent amount of broadcast before I go into what I'm actually here for. I served the crown faithfully for quite sometime before she declared me a fugitive, and even after I held to my oath as a soldier, born, raised, and trained under her guidance. Now, I may have been wronged, but I still served the crown, and I still tried to protect the people of this great house from the threats of the Kusari empire, the pirates and cannibals of the Corsairs, and random incursions of terrorists. I will continue to risk my life to redeem myself in the eyes of the people. Even if it causes my death."

He took a deep breath, pausing a bit before he actually started to talk again.

"The reason I stand here before you on a live boardcast is because I'm here to speak to you on behalf of the Fleet Admiral of Bretonia, Martin Bridge, who currently couldn't be here due to duties on the front. Now, I'm not a spokesperson, the Admiral felt it was necessary for a hero, no matter what you think of me currently, to stand up and say what I'm about to say."

"People of Bretonia. Your crown, your kingdom, your service men and women of the Armed Forces, and the Police Authority, your queen, need your help. Whether by donations, or actually serving in the Armed Forces or the Police Authority themselves. Now is the time. Now is the time to show those that have doubted you what you're really made of. Now is the time to take up arms against the Kusari Empire. Now, has never been better when we have the enemy cringing at every wound we inflict, back away like wounded dogs, licking their wounds!"

"The Armed Forces has been holding the front well since after my joining. Yes, we've lost countless of lives, but we've inflicted twice as much damage to the Kusarians, and we've gained a momentum of winning streaks across the front lines. I've been up there, and I've seen the enemies reeling, turning and fleeing from the fight. I've seen them back down and withdrawal, countless of times. I've seen massive Kusari battleships brought down by the few defenders we have stationed planet side, and on the Derby. Massive wreckage burning fourteen kilometers away from the orbit of Leeds."

"Our allies have stood idle as we've been invaded, our Government pleaded for help from them. We, the people stood firm when they told us to deal with our own war. Our pilots stood proudly, and died proudly, against the Kusari menace that attempts again and again to lay siege to our house, to Leeds, and have succeeded multiple times with causalities, but they still stood proudly. You, the people, have watched our great nation suffer from the war, have lost loved ones, and have begun losing your faith in the government. But we will hold strong. You must hold strong! We are Bretonians, and we shall fight street to street, town to town, to ensure that this house, this kingdom does not fall!"

"People of Bretonia. You have watched our great kingdom suffer from war, have lost loved ones, and have begun to lose your faith in the government, the Queen, and your Armed Forces. But we will hold strong. You must hold strong! We are Bretonians, and we shall fight street to street, town to town, house to house, to ensure that this house, this kingdom does not fall! We will not fall!"

"Your Armed Forces can't lead themselves to victory without the support of you, the people. They will fight day-in and day-out to ensure that victory, and they will bleed, they will bleed until their last drop. They will fight until they can't fight anymore!"

"I can't stress it enough how much this Kingdom, and it's people, mean to me. How much it means to each and everyone of you out there listening. I know how many of you feel that your combat services are losing. I know of the lies, the rumors, spreading around that our men and women in uniform can't last much longer. These lies, are just that, lies and rumors to make you lose faith in your men and women. To make you lose faith in your Government. Hold strong, hold fast, that has been the Bretonian way since the stories of Earth so many years ago."

He took another pause, letting what he just said soak in, or so he could catch his breath.

"We live in dire times, but the road to a brighter future is ahead of us if you start believing in your government. Any little thing will help win this war, service in the Armed Forces, joining the Volunteer Corps, sending carepackages with gummi worms, and other candy, writing letters to the people in uniform, helping the companies of Bretonia bring well needed supplies to help our war effort, anything to ensure victory over the Kusarians. We shall be victorious, and we shall move forwards after this war. Long live the Queen."

A man walked into the view of the screen, and whispered something in Austin's ear, Austin nodded, and started to walk off the stage, the man followed behind him smiling.

"There you have it. A live speech by the hero of Bretonia, Austin Goodman. We shall be replaying this miraculous speech again tomorrow for the viewers just tuning in. Until then, we here at BBC wish you a good night."
