Enrico stomped around his villa, playing with a pistol in his hands. He aimed up a few ornamental vases and blasted them in his rage and wandered out to the garden. Taking a seat by the pool, he shot off another few bursts out onto the lawn. One of his slaves brought him a datapad and told him he had a message from Death Runner. He snatched the datapad and read it hurriedly before barking at the slave to leave and furiously typing out a reply.
Since I got back, I knew you'd have something to complain about this, so I thought I'd wait to hear it before heading out again, but now senor, you might have just shot yourself in the foot. Well, metaphorically speaking, I don't believe yours actually work anyway. So yeah I got into some problems with the law, but you seem to be missing a few pointers. Your great syndicate doesn't have the numbers to support escorts for every shipment. With this ridiculous idea of yours the Tepic will make so few runs it'll barely cover running costs, and seeing as just how many times I've been to Liberty and back for you, I am appalled. If I could not handle flying that ship solo, do you think I'd still be alive now? No, I wouldn't! Do you think any of the shipments I made would have even made it through the Taus? No, they wouldn't! And do you think so much cardamine would arrive safely in Liberty? No, it wouldn't!
Look, I'm not new to cardamine smuggling, it's been my life since I can remember. I've flown solo more times than you've had hot meals, and I am still alive. This is not a company, and I am not here to serve mindlessly, I have my own life, my own ship and my own free will. I will become a major player in the Maltan economy regardless of you and your syndicate if need be, but I'd rather not. As long as you intend to have me sit around, YOU are losing a huge opportunity to make a name for the 81 Syndicate by being the Rouge's main supplier for that order of theirs. To that end, I implore you to allow the Tepic to fly solo again, so the Syndicate does not see this orange opportunity fly by.
Enrico called back for the slave, and threw the datapad at him as he approached. Simple violence not calming him, he shot the man right between the eyes before heading inside to find a distraction.
