There needs to be a limit on how much Pirates can demand....

Miners make thirty millions a run. They can earn hundreds of millions a day. Most say that four millions for the entire day is way too much, and that I should only charge one millions. A day. They get Snacked.

They can make hundreds of millions in a day, but in my experience most miner operators are not doing that. They will log on, fill up a 5k transport or just their own hegemon and then transport it. This is as much as most people have the time to do. "They can make hundreds of millions" Is not a good justification for outrageous pirate sums.

I think anything over 25% of the value of the cargo is really pushing it. Some pirates don't understand/care that with extremely high demands they are eliminating a source of rp and income for themselves when those miners/transports decide to quit or move to some other less pirate infested location.

I'm active on both sides of this issue and have built up a rapport with pirates while trading and traders while pirating. Once you recognize who you're dealing with it's a lot of fun to RP and 'punch the clock' each time you pass your rival. When you've gotten a demand to dump your whole cargo with minimum RP, that leaves a rather bad feeling overall.

This, like so many other complaints on the forum can be solved with the simple application of rule 0.0. Be good to each other.

Oh, and: Treat others how you wish to be treated.

Unfortunately, like in all communities, there are people whose primary fun comes from griefing and making everyone else's experience unpleasant. They of course 'RP' this in their characters and it's completely justified so no one can complain about it. That doesn't make it right.

A note: I'm not identifying the pirate who caused the OP to make this post as a griefer. I have no idea what really happened there.
