If You decide to play as pirate You schould do it becouse You want some fun - not to earn milion of credits...
for instance I play as military, and that is hard - becouse I do not earn ANY cach in it, only on some misions or for kill some wanted pilot.

Do you actually have a pirate/unlawful or anything like it?
You call fun trying to talk while smashing your CD button against some stupid miner?
You think it's easy to sit at a lane while 50% comes with a lawful gunboat that shoots you with almost no words?

playing a military pilot isn't supposed to earn money by his actions.
(Thats why we can transfer cash between characters.)
it's job is to keep the enemies of your space outside.
doing some patroling ain't hard.

And in RP the millions arn't supposed to be for the pilot but for the pirate group where he belongs to.

And having a list of each ship+commodity ain't working.
To complex as I said before.

I'll give you 2 tips:
1. Plays both sides
2. Learn to evade pirates.
