With engineering and the containment areas secured, the Nomad-infested crew members moved the more complex Superior and Minor Nomad Brains into engineering and worked to create an organic interface between several of the brains and the ships primary computer. Other members also began repairing the ships main reactor to help provide the energy necessary to encourage additional growth from the brain cluster.
Having control over engineering, the Nomads would begin to work like a virus, spreading through the ventilation and electrical conduits that ran the length of the Magnificent.
Meanwhile on the bridge, the Chief Engineer Richardson finally reports to Captain Aldrich:
Captain Aldrich: Chief, what the hells going on? Half the ship is in lock down leaving most crew members stranded and isolated
Chief Engineer Richardson: I cant explain it, the doors should be working theres absolutely nothing wrong with them. The only thing I can figure is the Nomads are affecting them. Theyre also interfering with the intercom and have complete control over engineering!!!
Captain Aldrich: That means that
All controls on the bridge suddenly powered down.
Captain Aldrich: They can reroute controls to engineering.
Chief Engineer Richardson: Aye.
Captain Aldrich: With our crew members isolated, the Nomads will just pick them off one at a time through the ventilation shafts. And weve got no control over any of the ships systems. Were like several small cans of sardines... we got to get off this ship and get assistance. Get everyone you can to the docking bay, were abandoning ship.
Chief Engineer Richardson: Aye, sir.
The Captain and Chief Engineer ran off the bridge and took separate routes to help gather everyone they could to the docking bay.
