He was born on Planet Curacao and was raised just by his father, since his mother left when he was just a newborn. His father worked a lot, while little Gary spent his time studying every piece of scrap he could get his hands on. He had an almost endless desire for knowledge.
His father never allowed him to leave planet-side, always saying, "Space is the very cause of our unhappiness." Although Gary didn't obey his father much; he would leave the planet with any individual that was willing to take him. This is how he earned the little piloting skill he possesses.
On his 18th birthday he packed all his stuff and left for Manhattan. A place where he thought was the land of all possibilities. He started to look for a job and the company that immediately drew his attention was Universal Shipping Incorporated. He applied and, to his surprise, got accepted. Now, due to his almost complete lack of experience and fighting skill, Gary spends most of his time training, watching, and emulating senior pilots.
