Founding:

The Stragglers' Brigade is a small group of teenagers who ran away from home in hopes of finding or carving out a new, whole life for themselves outside the law of adults. The short history of the Brigade started with Furumiya Usagi, a thirteen years old abused girl from Planet Honshu who stole a fighter vessel from the closest hangar and managed to fly off planet with it. It wasn't a sudden rush of prodigious talent, rather a planned out escape which took months to complete. Her motivation lied withing the huge world of Kusarian cartoons and comics, in which more often than not young teenager protagonists were fending for themselves while living a quite free, adventorous though often dangerous life, nothing like Usagi had back on Honshu. She made her way to the Border Worlds and with desperation and sheer luck managed to carve out a living via stealing and selling for trinkets whatever she could find, be it goods from storage depots or weapons and other components salvaged from ship remains. Her solitude finally ended upon meeting fifteen years old Joshua Jones who just managed to get out as stowaway New London where he lived as pickpocket for years. Other encounters followed later and it was decided that from then on they would stick together, in order to stay alive and preserve their hard-earned freedom. Not quite sure why, but Usagi seemed to emerge as a sort of leader of the "gang" which they started to call The Stragglers' Brigade

General information:

The Stragglers' Brigade recruits children younger than 16 years and older than 12, either by extracting them from their environments by request, or by picking them up from the streets on various planets. They aren't really an ever-groving group nor the murdering sorts, most of the time preferring to just move away from people refusing to pay so-called protection money, rather than acting as common pirates by blowing them off the skies. However when they are low on needed material, they can be quite hot-headed in getting what they want. Their goals differ time by time from having fun to piling up supplies, and their lifestyle is pretty much nomadic, traveling base-to-base and staying for various periods of time. They are by default wanted by lawful organizations, to return them to their respective relatives or if there aren't any, to governmental insitutes such as orphanages or worse. These are naturally things they want to avoid, leaving none behind and fighting anyone trying to separate them from each other. Of course they are not taken very seriously, a fact what they are aware of, thus they either work hard to try overcoming this lowly reputation, or simply take advantage of being underestimated by various parties. Although smart and adroit, they really are just young teenagers and thus are ultimately not the hard-boiled though kids they are pretending to be, but maybe this gives them very strong traits all of them share: that diehard desire to look after each other and the natural ability to solve internal conflicts without breaking apart, something perhaps alien to most of adults

FAQ

Q: LOL?
A:

Q: O rly?
A: Ya rly

Q: What'€¦ anime pics? Are you serious?
A: Personal tastes are personal tastes

Q: Don'€™t you think nobody would take seriously children flying around in space?
A: It is the most probable reaction from roleplay characters and factions, and honestly it is the point of the challenge of our roleplay

Q: Do I need skype to join?
A: Yes, we really need to discuss things and to see which of us are around

Q: Why don'€™t you just use Freelancer ID? It would fit perfectly
A: Not at all. In our opinion lawful forces want to have us back at our past homes, and that means we will resist non-passively, plus we also tend to try a little cargo or money pirating, thus the whole rephack making sense. Freelancer IFF on the other hand'€¦

Q: Diplomacy?
A: Only time will tell

Q: Ranks?
A: No

Q: Are you about to troll everybody?
A: Actually no, we are quite serious

Q: Aren'€™t you afraid of people up to ruin your faction?
A: We are, but most of the factions have to go through this

Q: Wouldn'€™t you just join an existing faction?
A: I don'€™t think any of those qualifies for our roleplay behaviour

Q: Are you sure? You sound like Zoners
A: You probably mistake us with something else
