---Communications Opened---
Commandante, Premier, esteemed members of High Command.
I have had the chance to board the Redemption Class Battleship currently sitting in dock number two at the research station.
Our teams are currently stripping down the communications array in an effort to better understand Gallic encryption protocols, thus aiding the Commissariat of Truth in being able to transmit messages to the citizenry of Gallia.
It is a noble proposition to refit this battleship, however the technological obstacles to such an endeavour are going to prove... challenging.
At first, the primary problem, before even worrying about weapon systems and combat readiness, was of course fuel. It seems the reactors, from what I understand from discussions with the former RdG Council-member... turned People's Engineering Specialist is that they run off of specialized oil. Now this isn't as much of a problem as first expected, local hydrocarbons can be synthesized into the right formula needed to provide fuel, supplemented with Coalition MKII portable reactors, taken from the scrapped Ty.Kirk, we *can* provide power indefinitely.
No, the key problem comes in parts and maintenance. Now we could devote a factory on Volgograd over to this project, replicating every mechanical part, that isn't a problem. But the electrics... they are so... out of our frame of reference, I can't even begin to fathom them out.
What I require, before we can proceed forward, are detailed scans of Gallic vessels, salvaged machinery from wrecks scattered throughout Gallia should do. As many as can be gained in short order.
My teams have transported some of the VHFs from the fighter bays to our machine shops on the station, where we are, as we speak, dismantling them to learn their secrets.
I know this is a bleak assessment, but until I get more data on how Gallic technology works, this is the best I can do.
