i like to trade around e.g. land on a base buy the thing there with the biggest profit margin, got to the next station and repeat it adds variety

Yeah I like to do that too, and the times when I am hauling a cheap load I'll venture off into the deep dark looking for new whozits and whatzits. Sucks to be hauling VIPs and pop out of a new Jump Hole into a hostile crowd with Weapon Platform support:)
