between Harris and McDuff, especially as you are empty one way.
That route is a complete cop-out and should have been removed ages ago. No in-system trading should
ever be that profitable. Anyone bragging about how much money they make from that sort of thing, should
be looking hard at their own RP in general ...
Smash, that all just smacks of battleship whoring, especially as you seem to keep one around just so you
can swap to it, illegally I should add, if there is a sniff of a pirate daring to come close.
Bloody sad in my book ...
Hoodlum
just to clear it up I was refering to the post by FWolf on aug2 which Korrd agreed with. I hadn't seen the later update. here is the full text.
Hmm... I don't like where this is going...
Korrd didn't say all switching is okay. He just said switching to another character who met the criteria he gave is allowed. That being: Ship was on the same base and in the same faction or aligned friendly to the original ship. This certainly doesn't mean a person who just died in battle can go grab another ship and start shooting the guys who killed him.
Granted, in the case X-Lancer outlined, if the battleship launched from Harris and is in the same faction (Same tag, at least) or in a faction friendly to the trader, then I see no problems, according to Korrd's outline. The trader didn't die on his way to the planet, so it was entirely possible he could find his buddy on the surface and send him out to battle. If anything doesn't match up, send the report and screenshots in.
Correct. Fwolf, don't place words on my mouth.
Being an IMG trader, and then docking on a planet and getting a ,for example, Outcast character is not allowed.
Being a trader, and then docking on a planet and getting a char which is not in the same base is not allowed.
The idea is that the pilot left his cargo ship landed, ran through the space dock to a different hangar and took off with a fighter in order to drive the pirate away. Not that the pilot magically teleported (switched chars) from his trader, which also cloaked (F1) and got his pirate and completely-hostile-to-his-trader battleship (which also is 120958235 light years away) in order to kill another [friendly to his new char] pirate. The former is ok, the latter will get you banned.
EDIT:
Now that i think it better, forget about switching chars. No matter if the char is friendly and is on the same base.
If you need protection against pirates, HIRE AN ESCORT.
Switching characters will get you badly fined. (and by badly i mean at least 50% of your credits, and possibly your ship converted into a starflier).

I note from the edit that the rules have been changed and of course I will abide by them as always.
I do wish the rules would remain static though as this was quite legal before aug 2. Unsavoury maybe, morally wrong perhaps but sure as hell not illegal.
I shall take my Battlecruiser back to Liberty space and hunt down Cardamine smugglers with it.
And Hoodlum, I know the name of the game is RP but I have a very limited amount of online time and needed some quick cash, I have it now and have moved on to better and more interesting routes(and no I aint telling you lot where they are neither). I do think the route should be deleted tbh but if it is there then why not take advantage of it occasonally?
