The shattered edge

"I try, but it never seems to do any good," the Master Chief grumbled as the din from outside the ship seemed to escalate. "That..." Pasha pointed upwards. "Doesn't sound good..."

There was a lurch, and the Social Credit listed sharply to one side, Pasha fighting his way up the length of the ship to the cockpit, looking at the chaos outside.

The Razor shot had blown a hole in the landing deck clear through to the hangar deck below. The deck the Social Credit was sitting on was, now, only supported from one side, meaning the full weight of the Coalition Gunboat was poised, precariously on an edge.

"Oh..." Pasha swallowed, as the ship pitched forward towards the edge of the hole, falling sideways to crash into the deck. Everything not secured in the ship, equipment, men, coffee cups... went crashing into bulkheads.

The last thing Pasha remembered before the darkness came, was the cockpit window rushing up towards him.
