Quote:Are the omnicroners the leading zoner faction? I have read your Faction Status, and could not really gather that info. In other words, to they lead the zoners?
the omicroners do lead the zoners as much as the TAZ or the OSI. - in other words - leading by status does not apply, leading by being led does. - those that wish to be led by the philosophy and ways of the omicroners can be led by them - those that wish to be led by the philosophy and ways of the OSI are led by the OSI and those that favour the ways of the TAZ are led by the TAZ.
those that do not like either of those three are led by themselves. - a cornerstone of zoners has always been to allow each one his own.
in other words - there is no claim for leadership, cause in order to lead, one must find someone that wishes to be led. - if roleplay however turns out that a majority of players wish to be led by the omicroners, the omicronsers are leading those ones. if it shifts towards others, so be it. - there is no long term plan about it.
essential - omicroners lead themselves, hence the faction.
Quote:Secondly, Are they the authority in Theta, 74 and Delta when it comes to the zoners? And if so, who appointed them? Or did they take power. Just explain that a little to me.
omicroners are THE authority of 74 ( obviously ) ... theta and delta are directly dependent on it, because they are adjacent or mostly adjacent - that means.. in the case of delta... you can only really reach delta through 74 ( unless you wish to fly through the corsairs homeworld, which many zoners would rather not do these days )
there is a claim - but the claim is political/economical/strategical - there is no ooc claim, cause a faction cannot claim systems that are not purchased by them. - but since it is a RP server... we can of course roleplay significant positions and key ranks there... as can anyone else who is active and reasonable ( and within zoner RP ).
to put it to practice - may anyone pop up who the omicroners really really dispise in delta / theta - they will most certainly RP to gain influence to gain the upper hand again. - but they will not play the "i am official and next door, so you better do as you are told"
the BHG NPCs at fp9 put it quite nicely... "we may not own the station, but we have a significant interest in it"
Quote:And Thirdly, with the recent RP it would seem that you have significant military power. For a zoner faction I find that a bit strange. I do not know however if this is so, it is just a conclusion that I have made from the RP the last couple of weeks.
this is my personal pov:
for a corsair faction i find it very strange to deploy capital ships, too. ( no, i do not really - i just say it cause i am at a loss how ppl come to such conclusions ) - why ppl tend to get upset when zoners deploy significant military powers is beyond me. zoners are NOT civilians - otherwise they would be called civilians.
if one argues about abandoning hierachical structures - which results in no military powers - i wonder how much the ppl actually know about the structure in which the military is put into action.
this is a topic i would gladly ( and in a civil manner ) discuss further - but not in this thread - as i wish to reply briefly here...
omicroners have significant guards - which is a direct result of the recent events ( causality ) - put upon by other factions. - had zoners no defense at all ( and still not ) - they d be either naive or stupid. - for over half a year - multiple factions unilaterally claimed private space of zoners and tried to achieve their goals with military power... even the most peaceloving person would - by that time either have submitted mentally and psychologically ... or put up some defenses. defenses can be of political nature, they can involve defense networks of diplomatic nature - and they can involve weapons.
zoners are no strangers to weapons - never have been. - in sirius... there are no "pacifists" who roam the edgeworlds - otherwise they might be called "pacifists" and not "zoners". do not make the mistake to mess up pacifists and idealists. - idealists ( which the original zoners kind of were ) have no problem taking up arms. zoners originally left the core cause of the goverments - but that also does not mean they dispise order. - some might, others might just prefer another order. what the "original zoners" had in common was that they were desperate OR daring to leave the core. - and both characteristics mean that you deal with a person who goes to more extreme measures for his ideals.
in short - yes, omicroners have responded to the threats with building up appropriate defenses to defend theirs. - that is not new - zoners had always have guards and battlegroups in their back - ever since most of the ppl here started playing.
