What are the parameters of this limit? Number restriction or faction restriction? How can you impose this in a fair way:
a) That doesn't ecrease the enjoyment factor.
b) That doesn't kill the playerbase of the factions with larger limits.
c) That doesn't screw over those who have caps but cannot use them under the limit.
d) That doesn't promote community uproar.
e) How do you ensure that this limit creates balance?
f) How can you judge the correct limit/faction; how can you balance this between factions?
How would you recompense those who have invested time and money into their ships? How can this be imposed effectively without an increase in civil conflict inside factions?
Its not quite as simple as 'put a limit on them'.
About the 'limit', make faction rules to limit caps usage, or only official factions can use bs, or only NPC use bs to defend and no more bs for players. Its RPless for bs patrol their systems or invade with only battleships, even more, i sometimes met bs at the system far from their territory and not come to/from Connecticut.
Sure its not simple to limit and I cant say it sure creates balance, but thats why we have discussion here.
