Maximus gathered needed supplies in his Osprey's cargo. Additional Oxygen, water, food rations, synth paste, some medicines and other stuff that might be usefull in long, deep space exploration missions. He knew the danger and he was well prepared for all that he could encounter. After few days of preparing and gathering intel that he managed to save from the Lost Pioneer he finally set off.

For Omicron Iota.

It wasn't first time Maximus tried to breach the Nomad defences but this time it was diffrent most of his trips into this infected space was in something capable to fight off the swarm...warships of all kind...but this time it was only him and his skills. He managed to evade most of the nomad wings and even gathered some of the remains but he didn't come there to fight the nomads alone. He was there to find the secret behind their power.

Sneaking around the system that is mostly dead and unfriendly was easy at first. Flying in the Nebula allowed him to hide from numerous nomad crafts. Few days of searching and exploring was finally giving results.

Maximus discovered a defensive perimeter that Nomads where defending furiously...It was obvious that they are defending something. Not only the resistance was stronger but the sector was covered with something similar to human minefield. Mines were strong enough to stop a warship but it's densification wasn't that hard to avoid in a fighter ship. Maximus decided to risk it and went directly inside the field. Few minutes later he managed to make few scans of the objects inside and then he was forced to retreat...the nomad presence was too massive for a single fighter to handle...The scans obviously were showing somekind of structure in the middle. He also picked few alien gate shape things...He saw similar structures in Newcastle and in Omicron Minor. Finally he was on to something.

He decided to rearm and repair the ship before he goes any futher. The nomad presence in the system is large and staying there too long will most likely end in his death. The only way to get some better scans and possible samples is to get some ship capable to carry more supplies, some science equipment and possibly few crew members crazy enough to go with him. Maximus knew that the GMG has such vessel and he had requested permission to use it before he went on the first trip. Now he must wait and hope that old allies won't forget about the past and will help him with this task...This might be a breaking point in fight against the nomad infection and such oportunity must not be wasted.
