The Bear's Cave - Sedona Station, Baffin (Formerly Freeport 14, Yukon)

It had been a few weeks, and the place was coming together. Lev had developed a few regular customers on this tiny base. There were only a handful of people on Freeport 14, mostly administrative staff of the OSI, and most of them had kept their distance. There were the locals, as Lev had come to call them. These folk were either part of the original construction crew of the station or had shown up here during the first days of the station, before OSI had moved in. There were only about two dozen of them, but they had taken to Lev's place, and Lev had taken to them. They were people with no agenda and Lev liked that. They didnt have any other aspirations than to live their lives and enjoy the time while they could. Of course their were political discussions and what not, but none of them got upset over their disagreements. Anytime two people started getting too upset, Lev would put a pipe down in front of them, on the house. It usually did the job of either calming them down, or making them forget what they were fighting about.

For the first time in a long time, Lev was beginning to feel at home.
