Bernard watched as the hostess undulated sexually as she left the lounge. His brain felt as though it was experiencing a fireworks display as his synapses sizzled and exploded, while his body lay draped bonelessly over one of the loungers and completely refused to obey any orders his brain managed to think up, unfortunately that seemed to include the command to breathe. "Merde, that is one hell of a woman!" he sighed.

Slowly bringing his body back under control he climbed to his feet and decided to join the others in the main bar area. Walking slowly from the lounge, he wondered if he could spend more time with the hostess in the future. "The Hostess?" he thought, "Mon Dieu, I never even found out her name!". He hurried down the corridor in an attempt to catch up with her and find out what she was called, but as he rounded the corner he crashed into another hostess, knocking her to the floor. "Mon Dieu, I am truely sorry Madmoiselle" he said as he helped her to her feet and found himself gazing into the strangely familiar face of the beautiful young lady. "Non, non, it is all my fault sir!" she said as she backed away and then hurried down the corridor.

Bernard stood there, puzzled. "I know I have seen her before, but where? I never forget a face!" Then suddenly it hit him. It had been 4 years before that a deal to buy a large quantity of stolen wine on Planet Nevers had gone bad and Bernard had been lucky to escape with his life. He had been drinking beer, something that he rarely did and the uncomfortable feeling in his bladder caused him to slip out the back of the warehouse to relieve himself while his partner argued about the price. He had just finished and was about to return when he heard shouts and the whine of a laser pistol and he instinctively dropped behind a wall, uncaring of the fact he was kneeling where he had just relieved himself.

As he watched, the door burst open and Jean, his partner ran from the building. Another figure appeared in the doorway, a whine, a flash of red light ...... and Jean dropped to the floor with a bubbling hole where the back of his head used to be. The other figure calmly walked towards Jeans corpse and flipped him onto his back with its boot. Bending down to examine his face the figure was bathed in light from the open door and Bernard saw a beautiful young woman in the uniform of the Gallic Royal Police. The same young woman he had just bumped into! "F****** HELL!" he said as he ran after her, dragging out the emergency weapon he always carried but had never had to use.
