The transports are all a little dull. You can't customize them very much. In customize I mean, you cannot make them suit your combative tastes. I am not saying making their weapons stronger, I just want the option of noise and bright lights coming from my ship. Sure you can use Level 5 turrets but they have a rather short range. A major problem on models like the liners or C-Trans.
I have two suggestions.
Twin cannon.
(uses the NPC transport turret model with the two smaller guns attached to it. Look at the under turret on any basic transport.)

Power Usage: 275 (transport power cores don't even lower when firing)
Range: 1100
Hull: 155
Shield: 78
TTransport Missile.
Refire: 1
Power Usage: 700 (transport power cores don't even lower when firing)
Range: 1100
Hull: 500
Shield: 250
