Subject: Patrol Report 12-28

Good evening. Here is my patrol report from last evening's patrol. I would have had this turned in sooner, however I had to stop by medical on planet Leeds, as well as the repair yards...But more on that later.

I began my patrol in New London. Things were quiet, so I decided to head to Poole to see if I could get any upgrades to my ship. It turns out my ship was upgraded sufficiently, so I headed back to New London. All was quiet there still, so I headed to Manchester for a quick sweep. I met an Ageira ship carrying passengers. He informed me that he was headed to planet New London. Now, I had no reason to disbelieve him, so I wished him a safe flight, and he jumped through the gate. Manchester was quiet, so I headed back to New London.

I arrived back at planet New London in time for the Ageira ship to undock with VIPs. Having proven his trustworthiness by not lying the first time, I didn't bother asking the second time. He was presumably heading for New York.

I next met a pair of Rheinlanders hauling H-Fuel. I asked for their destination, and they replied that they were headed to Planet New London! I offered thanks for the assistance in the war effort. I then got reports of some activity in Leeds, so I jumped through.

Once at the Planet, I detected a ship, whose owner's named seemed to be Urumi Kanzaki. The name sounded Kusari, but before I could get further details, the ship docked with Battleship Derby! I stuck around, and sure enough the ship undocked, this time within scanner range. I scanned the ship, and found some very interesting information. First, in the ship's hold were several VIPs, a few Civilians, as well as a Bounty Hunter and a couple of Pirates. Second, her ship was flying Golden Chrysanthemum colors! Now, official policy is to ask the GC to leave Bretonia. However, I couldn't do so while she was holding several people in her hold!

I politely asked for a transfer, or for her to dock with the Derby and transfer them to its custody. She requested planet Leeds instead. I assented, on the condition that she had docking rights. Apparently she did. What's more, she invited me for a drink. I was a bit dubious, but I thought it might be a good idea to accept in order to keep an eye on her and make sure that her 'passengers' were OK. Luckily they were. We headed to the nearest tea shop.

She was about to order Sake, whatever that might be (some sort of Kusari drink according to information I found on the 'net), but I stopped her in time, since I was quite sure they didn't serve it. I ordered tea, naturally, as I was still on duty. She had apparently brought her own Sake, however. I could tell the patrons were getting nervous/restless at a Kusarian in the shop, so I drank my tea quickly and made sure she got back in her ship and launched to space before I did the same.

Once back in space, I met a ship with the callsign Sails. He wasn't showing any IFF. I scanned his ship, and he was carrying Refugees from planet Leeds. Something seemed odd about his transponder id as well. He started to head for the Trade Lane heading to Stokes, so I asked him where he was going, and told him to hold. He admitted he was heading for Kusari! Now, as you all know this is a violation of Bretonian law with the ongoing war! He also attempted a flimsy excuse. For his next trick, he attempted to bribe me with 500,000 Sirius Credits! The nerve! I don't need to tell you that I refused the bribe and returned his money.

Fortunately, he cooperated and returned the refugees to Leeds. Who knows what he told these people to get them on his ship! I am sure they were unhappy to have to return to Leeds, but it was also just as surely better that than be kidnapped to Kusari! Sails undocked from Leeds with an empty cargo hold. Perhaps I should have been harder on him and imposed a fine in person, at the very least, or banned him from Bretonia.

I recommend that Sails be placed on a no-fly list in retrospect!

As I was about to head back to New London for the night, a Kusari rookie patrol came out of nowhere and, without fanfare, shot my ship to pieces! Bloody Kusarians! I was able to eject, and lucky for me Urumi had not left the area, as she was then able to transport me back to Planet Leeds, but not without some snide comments. I am told my ship is salvageable, barely.
