-Do you know what you want to roleplay as a Temporary Autonomous Zoner? Trader, quite simply.
-Do you have a character in mind in which you would like to roleplay? If so, tell us the history and general Roleplay.
Currently this character doesn't exist in game, merely in my head. Of course he has existed there for quite some time until I could decide what to do with him and enter TAZ. The general idea behind this character is his view of economics. He likes money quite simply. What did you say? That's the same as every single trader out there? Well you'd be wrong.
You see he doesn't just merely like money. He is in love with economics and the reason for money. The reason for money, in his mind, to elevate humanity above simplistic bartering and instead bring order to trading by having a singular thing that can be "bartered" with. "Ooooh, order?" I hear you see. Yes my friends, order. "Well perhaps that doesn't make sense for a faction based around a religion that believes Order is a mere illusion?" Well. Yes. I see your point. Maybe I should take this somewhere else....
But wait!
You see the reason he loves all of this is because of the completely and utterly stupid idea of bringing order to something as inherently uncontrollable as trading. So after realising this in his youth that his attempts to make money were a forlorn hope, he travelled through the galaxy. This way, that way. Eveeery way possible. That is until one day, that one day that all heroes or heroines of our own personal stories eventually most have. On that one, particular, day, long lost to his memory (And everyone else's memory. Not that anyone else was around him at the time. I mean, come on, no one wishes to be near a unwashed, dishevelled man such as he was.) he had an epiphany.
That's it. That's the end. What did just say? That's not good enough. Well I'll have you know that I spent many a minutes writing this whilst using google to correct my spelling because I've yet to install any form of proper writing software on here. You know what it's like to know that you've spelt something wrong, so you continually try and correct it without any help? Have you felt the eventual demise of your spirit as you realised that a simple word as defeated your half asleep brain that has been running on coffee for the past 10 hours? Heck after reading that sentence again I realised that I had made three spelling mistakes. Three. In a single, rather simplistic, sentence. Fine. I'll tell you of his epiphany. (Yeah, I had to google that word. I spelt it several different ways before I decided that it was going to forever stay wrong. Only to discover that I'd actually spelt it correctly the first time.)
He was lost in the bowels of some unnumbered Freeport, listening to the murmurs of the engineers as they moaned about how little pay they got for fixing up an old station such as they had came to inhabit. He had now gone unshaven and unwashed for 147 days and 150 nights (Yeah, go on. Make sense of that.) when he heard a sermon from Eris herself. Absurd you say? No my friend, you misunderstand. You see what he was listening was the daily Stock Exchange news cast.
What? You've stopped reading? No! Don't. You must listen.
Where you or I'd hear and see arbitrary numbers, he heard and saw the essence of Chaos. The stock exchange to him is a purely chaotic instrument. He shifts constantly. Never staying in a single shape. This particular news cast had reported a small crash for a particular and unremembered company. He bought a share with his last 50 credits. Then sold it a year later when it had gone up to three times it's initial value. PROFIT. Well.... No that didn't happen. He actually bought quite a few shares. Selling and buying to make money. Of course that's not the end of his story.
He began to understand that Chaos was inevitable and really the only thing that mattered to him. So throughout the next few decades he would buy and sell stocks. Making millions a year, then for no reason other than to see the ensuring Chaos, he'd spread rumours of a collapse in a company that he had a large share in. Why? For the ensuing Chaos obviously. Normally, not always though, this would cause people to sell their stocks, devaluing the rest of the stocks which would cause others to panick and sell theirs. Then he'd wait until it seemed that the stocks would go no lower in value. Why did he wait? Because he'd then sell all of his invested stocks. This would "Normally, not always though," cause the company to hit rock bottom. Die. Go to the big place in the sky. Take a dirt nap. Say goodbye to the sunshine... You know, that sort of stuff.
This would, of course, lose him quite a lot of money. Which, of course, would be the end of him? Well no. You see, he'd just buy stocks in the company that was sure to profit from the other companies demise. "Normally, not always though" he'd break even. Sometimes he'd make a vast profit. Sometimes he'd lose it all. He has lived in a mansion that Queen Carina herself would be jealous off. He's lived in a cardboard box that he had to steal from a rather unlucky orphan.
In the end this made him quite a few enemies. Which is where, in his mind, the TAZ come in. He sees the TAZ as a big hollow bear. Sure on the outside it'd scare almost everybody, hopefully the enemies that keep trying to kill him, but once your on the inside you realise "Oooooooooh, maybe not so not scary."
-Do you have a recommendation from a TAZ? If so, name them. Here be Chet. Does it count if I bribed him with many golden torcs? If that means it doesn't count. What if I threatened to destroy him? That's illegal? Ooooh. Well, I'd said that he completely and utterly endorses me without any form of coercion. If he says otherwise then something might, perhaps, happen to him, his family, his dog, his cat, his hamster, that rabbit he petted once as a child while visiting a farm. But I would have nothing at all to do with that.
-Will you follow TAZ roleplay guidelines? Yep.
-What is your experience? When did you join Discovery? A lot. Over three years now.
-Have you roleplayed TAZ before? Nope.
-Are you in other factions? If so, name them. Virulian Enclave and the Mandolorians.
-What will be your level of involvement in TAZ? A medium level of involvement. At worst I'll be able to hop on and spread the word of Principia Discordia (Perhaps accidently and completely unintentionally make some money along the way) once a week.
