Today some of our units (The KPT) ran in to a group of BAF and two IAB's in New London. The chase carried over to Leeds and near the middle of sector 5-E a battle started. Allocating your units, you were in total 7, we were 3 (3 KPT units). I don't care about the numbers, this part of the fight I'm fine with.
The fight progresses, and eventually a Battleship named BAF Sovereign enters. He however, does not engage. He only engaged when two KNF Gunboats arrived to mortar him from distance. At this point we also started seeing battleship missiles coming in so we assumed he was trying to kill our fighters. I must also mention that we received backup to about 4-6 more Fighters. Making us the ones outnumbering the enemy. Although I'm not sure who the BAF Battleship targeted we had to assume he was allowed to be targeted at this point. So we fought him and he dies after trying to escape and so forth.
Now, at this point of the battle where both sides had lost a few fighters we reach the point why I'm here. The remaining IAB, I can give you the name via PM if you want, kept running back to the stationary battleship once his shields dropped. Given what he kept saying on local chat, the justification was that we apparently send too many numbers at them. It seems he forgot that it was okay when their side attacked us with 7on3, where I didn't say a word. But now it suddenly was a problem when the tables had turned.
Numbers don't matter to me. But dodging behind stationary battleships, which we all know are immortal, so we can't cause damage to them - is in my opinion a very low tactic and frankly a game-mechanics abuse (given that stationary battleships cant be removed during battles). If you state to me, with your response, that this type of tactics are considered ok in your book. Then I will make sure to prepare myself accordingly for the next battle. The BAF have been known for doing this in the past as well. But you are a new group, and are in construction. So I bring this matter to you, specifically about one of your members. I will deal with the BAF via their leader. I would also like to mention that they put a repair ship, with 4000 bots ready standing right on top of the stationary battleship. Giving out bots as people were low on it.
If we tried to thrust away from the scene, trying to move the fight away, they (as in both the BAF and the IAB unit) would run towards the Stationary Battleship regardless, and doing so repeatedly.
So in essence, I'm just asking if these types of tactics are ok with you, just so I know how to behave in the future. Thank you for your time.
For any BAF reading this as well. The choice is yours, you want to have fun fights, then let's try to be reasonable towards each other. Set up some collective guidelines if you want and we will do our best to follow them. But if you continue down this road, to win at every cost, then I assure you no side will have any fun in a space-game.
