Rmorph has presented valid points that threaten the status quo, so he's an arrogent jerkface condemned to flit about on a Nomad Morph for the rest of his life. How I love forum debates.
His points have been shot down with arguments following "it's our way or the highway" school of thought. Self-serving and very subjective arguments, for the most part - for the good of server RP my left elbow.
You see, Mr. Rmorph, Nomads want to remain special, unique, coveted. If every Dick, Jane and Harry had an indie Nomad character, there would be more interactions with Nomads across the server. They would cease to be as special or unique. Nor would they be coveted, since Nomads would be an open faction. Free access would kill the enigma.
The Order and the Core would have more reason to be active in pursuing their primary mission, but they can always skirmish with the Liberty Navy and the Core. Who cares about Order RP anyway?
An open faction, for example Liberty Navy, has an official player faction and indies. The player faction attempts to lead by example and has some additional freedoms, and I think most players agree with this sort of setup.
Nomads are, for some reason, elevated to the next tier of celestial awesomeness, so that Nomads need not suffer the blight of indie players. They'd have to deal with no-clue indies just like everyone else and that just would not do. No sir.
I believe, from my non-pew-pew, moderate, egalitarian point of view, that there is room for Nomad indies on this server. Give them full access to ships and tech, require them to act the part, create a basic ID template for indies to follow, have them submit a background story, allow them a limited ZoI.
But that ain't happening, so I'm going go read some Augustine and play some Starcraft 2.
