Do too many factions have capital ships?

About the 'limit', make faction rules to limit caps usage, or only official factions can use bs, or only NPC use bs to defend and no more bs for players. Its RPless for bs patrol their systems or invade with only battleships, even more, i sometimes met bs at the system far from their territory and not come to/from Connecticut.

Sure its not simple to limit and I cant say it sure creates balance, but thats why we have discussion here.

But how could the factions impose this? The factions have a responsibility to help ensure proper roleplay takes place, but not prevent others from having fun and using their caps. Most factions already limit caps of those within their ranks.

In Delta, there are many BH Dessy patrols and Corsair Osiris patrols. In Gamma, there are snub and Osiris patrols. In House systems, you get cruiser/battleship patrols. It doesn't seem very OORP to me; Osiris to counter destroyers, Osiris patrolling home system, cruiser/battleships patrolling house space.

Generally, you don't get an all-battleship invasion, unless it is the Outcasts bringing a bunch of Ranseurs to Gamma. Normally, you'll have at least a couple of bombers and a bunch of fighters too.

Discussion =/= practice. Again, its not as simple as you say. We've gone from 'put a limit on it' to 'make the factions limit it'.

To do so, factions would need more power and admins would have to be far more strict. Such acts would decrease enjoyment, decrease playerbase and would kill factions.
