Johnathan nodded as Elizabeth spoke. "The Republic shares our own problem. Any direct action against either BMM or Planetform that could be traced back to us, would infuriate Bretonia. And our own interests in Cambridge, Dublin and Newcastle, all important in their own way, would pay the price. We did not ask for the Colonial Republic's direct aid for any agressive actions against BMM. Our trouble lays more with the occasional overwhelming Corsair and Hogosha raiders. The Colonial Republic's fighter squads have a history of being able to stand against large numbers of Outcasts - those tactics will be of value in Dublin, in those conditions. But I digress."
John paused a moment, looking to Sequoia and Druce.
"The Gaian movement's tactics, and your ability to act outside of Bretonian law, gives you an advantage in this situation. However, as I understand it, numbers are few, and we can do very little to assist you directly. Given recent developments in Bretonia I expect the Guild to be under intense scrutiny, especially from the Bretonian Intelligence wings. If it is direct military support you came for, or access to our craft or weapons, I do not see how we can assist you and still remain welcome in Bretonia. I... am open to suggestions."
