I am playing the guitar for a total of 3 years now. In my first 6 months I got classic acoustic lessons. Because I was performing bad at school I decided to stop the lessons. But I didn't stop playing guitar. I kept playing on my Yamaha C40 for 2 years and finally my parents allowed me to buy an electric guitar. I chose for an Epiphone SG model because it suited my playing style. In that time I only played Rock 'n Roll. For some reason I discovered a website called www.justinguitar.com and it was completely free and I learned a lot there. I got introduced to blues and love it.
A few months after the purchase of my SG it gave a lot of problems. I restringed the guitar and from the same moment it started buzzing all over the place. I highered the bridge a bit but it didn't do the job either. I went back to the store and they we're almost angry about the fact I modified the bridge.
I turned out the woman who became a bit pissed of didn't knew anything about guitars. After a repair that costed me 20 euros the buzz was still there. I went back to the store, they fixed it, I came back home and it was buzzing again.
I went to the local guitar guru and he took a look at my guitar. It seemed that my neck had this shape: ~ .
I went back to the store, again, and they decided to send it to the importer and see what he could do about it.
After a month we heard that I could get a brand new SG, but it would take another 2 months before it could be shipped because they didn't have any SG's around.
The store said I could choose for either a new SG or a brand new guitar for the same price. I could add some extra money to this to buy myself a beautiful guitar. But this is the point where the story stops.
I will choose for buying a new guitar but I just don't know which one. The only thing I want is:
-A Fender
-Between 700 and 900 euros
-It should have an amazing clean sound, pretty important when you play bluesy/jazzy like stuff
-It should still be able to handle a bit of gain.
There are a few guitars that caught my eye but I don't know if the store is able to order them for me:
-Fender Stratocaster American Special (Bit cheaper but hey, it is American made)
-Fender Stratocaster Classic Player 60's (I heard these are quite good)
-Fender Jaguar Classic Player Special (I haven't played on one but it sounds really good clean and is able to handle a bit of gain.
Do you have any suggestions?
So, yeah, I play the guitar but I thought it would be fun to tell you this story.
