"Nous faison carburer vos rêves"
"Power that fuels dreams"

Unlike other Sirius systems colonies, planets of Ile-de-France and other core systems of Gallia proved to have abundant supplies of oil. Utilizing nearly limitless oil deposits was more efficient for building up the new House than using other types of fuel and alternative means of generating energy. In 218 A.S., agiant corporation named EFL Oil, was formed to control all extraction, transportation, and processing of oil in Gallia. Later, when space colonization was on the rise, EFL absorbed several large shipbuilding and engineering companies, becoming EFL Oil & Machinery. In its new state, the corporation was responsible for building most of the currently operating Gallic space stations, shipyards, and trade lanes.

L'apport d'EFL a l'histoire de Gallia
(EFL in Gallic history)

The beginning
When the Ile-De-France arrived in what later would be called the Gallic Sector and the first colonies were established, surveyors soon discovered vast amounts of oil throughout Gallic territory. While oil is inferior to fusion or dark matter generators when it comes to space ship propulsion or military applications, it is well suited as a cheap, safe and reliable fuel for civilian cars and industrial machinery.

The growing
While the Gallic Crown possessed a monopoly on the extraction, transportation and refining of this "black gold" during the early years of the Empire, a company named EFL Oil and Machinery quickly made it's way to the top in the second century of Gallic settlement. Through the assimilation of many smaller companies the originally rather small company soon became the economic powerhouse it is today, owning whole stations, trade lanes and even shipyards.

Times of war I
First Gallic War (will be completed when information is released)

Times of War II
When the Second Gallic War started, EFL remained the main fuel supplier for the lawful entities. However, the number of attacks on EFL convoys increased and the company suffered a re-organization. In 733 A.G.S., the administration council decided to split the company in five departments, each of them being lead by a director. The defense department had a hard task: To ensure the safety of EFL transports, bases and operations. For the moment, they seem to be up to the challenge.

Times of War III (War against Sirius)
Ongoing preparations for the attack on the treacherous Alliance houses gave EFL a new level of interest. EFL is now looking for possible small Sirian companies to assimilate them and offer an already existent infrastructure. Preliminary scouts revealed the existence of IMG and BMM in the nearby Orkney and Tau-23 systems but the information they got so far is not enough. The Research and Exploration department will have the task of an economic espionage agency.

Politique d'EFL
(Policy of EFL)

Respect and Loyalty
Men and women representing EFL Oil and Machinery are expected to be respectful towards every Gallic citizen, be it a noble or commoner. All employees of EFL Oil and Machinery are expected to talk in a civilized manner. An inability to do so is to insult the language of the Kingdom, and will be considered a crime.
To voice an opinion that could be seen as support for enemies of the Crown or to speak against the Crown is forbidden and will be punished severely.

Profit and Shipping
To ensure we can operate at our best as possible, all employees must fly safely on the lanes or to be escorted by fighters (e.g. Police, Navy or other specialized escorts) when passing through dangerous areas. All employees must operate in the safest and most efficient way possible, without putting the cargo at stake.

Sirians and Junkers
Treat Junkers the same way as any other Gallic civilian, provided they treat you the same. Sirians are traitors, report any sighting of them to your superviseur, so that he/she can inform the Royal authorities.

Safety and Security
Ensure the safety of EFL, it'€™s properties and personnel. Fully co-operate with Gallic authorities and help them if requested. In case of any accidents, report to your superiors so that they can send help and/or assist you. Keep the oil extraction procedure secret safe and in no way spread it.

A clean environment
It is known that we, at EFL, always ensured that the animals and plants around our extraction areas were treated with respect. We also created an Emergency fund to be used in case of disaster. Our researchers are working to provide new extraction ways and keep the risk of accident to a minimum. In the recent history of our company, only one incident happened but we made sure that the wild life was well protected and the area is now a green oasis.

Engines
[Image: ux256.png]
The UX-256 engine uses oil propulsion. This engine was produced in 730 A.G.S. for the "Moonbeam" light fighters. Later, the engine was implemented on the "Sunbeam" Heavy Fighters.

UY-258 also uses oil reactions for propulsion. This engine equips the newer "Sunbeam" models and gives a plus in power to the heavy fighter.

The concept UZ-260 is the engine of the future fighter model of the EFL. No data available but it's supposed to be more powerful than its predecessors.

Ships
Moonbeam - Image required
This sleek racer, consisting of little more than hyper conducting alloys molded around overpowered engines, is the love of Gallic space operas and racing circuits alike. Capable of extraordinary maneuvers in the hands of a trained pilot, the deadly dances performed amidst asteroid fields are only as deadly as the cannons she employs when pressed into escort duty.

Sunbeam - Image required
Comfortable, stylish, deadly. Pushing Gallic economic interests through the darker corners of her homeland, the Sunbeam was crafted as an added deterrent against brigand bomber strikes. More than capable of shredding incoming vessels while their charges make good with their escape, this vessel is not to be judged by the surface level gleam of her hull.

UZ-300 "Eclipse" Gallic civilian bomber - Image required
As a response to the increased threat from pirate gunboats and transports modified into raiders, EFL Oil & Machinery partnered with Solar Engineering to design the Eclipse bomber. EFL's accomplished engineering team designed the chassis, engines, and systems architecture, while Solar provided expertise in state of the art navigaton, scanning, and targeting technology. The result is the most advanced fighter craft available on the civilian market in Gallia. More heavily armored and with a larger power core than the bomber used by the GRN, the Eclipse's design anticipates its pilots finding themselves the underdog in dangerous situations with little backup available, and provides added resources to both survive and prevail, at least long enough to allow the more valuable members of their convoy to reach safety.

If one wants to move large cargo fast, "Aurochs" is the right ship for the job. Mostly used by Gallic corporations for shipments between planets and distant bases, this ship has found a place amongst many civilian pilots too.

ME-UH "Vache" Gallic Train - Image required
As the territories of Gallia, even when aided by the usurped gate technologies of her sister colonies, continued to sprawl the need to move vast stores of precious resources from crop world to industrial, from smeltery to shipyard, grew ever more pressing. The simple core vessel, transporting a series of modular pods easily configured for the task at hand, quickly became the core staple of insterstellar house commerce.

"Pachyderme" Gallic Advanced Train - Image required
The Pachy, as it is affectionately known by its crews, boasts the largest cargo hold of any transport in Gallia, and is sold throughout the nation to both large and small Gallic shipping companies.

"Briller" Gallic Repair Ship - Image required
Originally designed by EFL Oil and Machinery to conduct repairs to its space stations, the Briller repair ship has been adapted to fulfill the versatile needs of repairing stations, servicing damaged space craft, and delivering vital damage control supplies to critically endangered ships. Its simple yet robust design has made it an important part of both corporate and military fleets.

"Lucullus" Gallic Liner - Image required
Offering all the amenities of a palatial residence, the Lucullus liners are the most technologically sophisticated vessels in Gallia, apart from Royal Navy battleships. In effect, the liners are travelling resorts, and many passengers find their accomodations superior to those found at popular resort destinations. In Gallia, there is no finer means to travel than aboard one of these liners.

Infrastructure and logistics
[Image: 90446086.png]
Their appearance is similar to atmospheric flight goggles. The right-side ring serves planet-bound traffic and the left-side ring serves traffic leaving the planet to space. Docking rings also have defensive turrets mounted on them to engage hostiles foolish enough to venture too close.

Trade lanes are used for superluminal travel within a system. Trade lanes must be entered from their origin point, usually located near key industrial, military or civilian bases or jump gates leading to other systems.

Jump gates are man made portals, as opposed to naturally occurring jump holes, making travel from one system to another possible in Gallia. Jump gates are usually located at the end of trade lanes. When a docking procedure is initiated the jump gate opens up and ship is then hurtled through the wormhole to another system. EFL Oil and Machinery is the sole manufacturer of a jump gate technology in Gallia. Usually the control of the jump gates, as well as trade lanes, are then transferred to the GRN. Jump gates defenses will shoot at any hostile ship that ventures too close to it.

Bases
Chartres Space Colony
Chartres Space Colony is the oldest space colony in Gallic space that still retains its original core modules that were never rebuilt since the foundation of the colony in the year 341 AGS. It was, however, expanded with many more habitat areas, increasing its housing capacity to over 50,000 by 650 AGS. Along with multiple housing modules, the station also has a number of medium-sized production facilities, and is known as one of the primary sources of high-quality plastics in Gallic space. The station has been operated by EFL since its foundation, and represents the headquarters of the space operations.

Briancon is a large commercial space station maintained by EFL Oil & Machinery and Gallic Royal Police. Since the Gallic Border Worlds became an area of fighting between the Council and the Gallic Navy, Briancon was one of the first installations to receive advanced weapon systems, which included long-range missile turrets. Reinforced armor and weapons guaranteed safety for the station's inhabitants even in the years when the Council was raiding Dauphine system on a regular basis.

Beauvais Production Facility - Image required
Beauvais was one of the first space stations constructed by EFL Oil & Machinery back in the time when it was called EFL Oil. EFL started constructing the station in the year 281 AGS, and in the hundreds of years to come the facility was rebuilt several times. It contains a number of highly efficient petroleum processing facilities, making Beauvais one of the primary sources of petrochemicals in the Ile-de-France system. The station is also known for being the closest lawful facility to Beaumont Base.

Laval Shipyard - Image required
Laval Shipyard was built in 578 AGS by EFL Oil & Machinery. It was one of the first stations built in order to restore the economy of the Maine system. The Royal Navy used its facilities to construct supply ships and assemble certain hull parts for larger military craft.

Luxury Liner Belleville
Luxury Liner Belleville is one of the well-known cruise vessels operated by Bouvet Space Entertainment group. The liners are built by EFL Oil & Machinery in the Laval Shipyard, and the corporation owns and maintains them jointly with Bouvet. EFL also provides security and logistic support for the liner's operations. Belleville is one of the latest vessels of its class, its first independent flight taking place in 703 AGS. It is most commonly seen in the Lyonnais system, but it occasionally visits Ile-de-France, Orleanais and Berry. The liner is currently stationed within the spectacular Givors Debris Field, not far from the wrecked components of the Givors Shipyard devastated by a Maquis bomb in 665 AGS. The debris that formed the Givors Field partially consists of shipyard parts that floated away after the explosion. Outer parts of the field were formed earlier, when massive ship construction took place in Givors.

Montlucon Space Colony
The large space colony of Montlucon was built in 644 AGS by EFL Oil & Machinery. The facility is representative of a new generation of space colony facilities. Montlucon was built ulitizing recent advances in technology, and follows strict quality standards for space habitats. EFL managed to keep the station profitable for most of its existence. The Second Gallic War attracted a large number of Refugees to the facility, and now it is almost at full capacity. EFL's policy denies accepting any additional settlers, with no exceptions being made even for relatives of current settlers. The station also houses one of the largest Polymer production plants in Gallic space. High-quality Polymers and various byproducts are exported from Montlucon to a number of locations in Auvergne, Berry, and beyond. Currently, Montlucon also produces a number of crucial components for fighters and gunboats of the Royal Navy.

Riom Shipyard
Riom was one of the first stations built in the Auvergne system. A light industrial facility that mainly mass-produces smaller spacecraft for the civilian market, it has seen a considerable boost in productivity as the nearby Clemont colony expanded, and it's citizens required small civilian craft to travel to the Gallic core worlds.

Romorantin Space Port
Romorantin is one of the older stations in Orleanais, built by EFL in 386 AGS. It once was an important shipping point and a place where mining companies brought ores mined from various parts of the vast Loire Asteroid Field. For some time, the station was also used to build and maintain ships and build components for jump gates assembled to connect Orleanais with Lyonnais and Berry. Beuvron Debris Field was formed in 450-550 AGS as a result of active space construction activity. Since then, economic activity in the area has been declining steadily. Loire asteroids proved to be difficult to mine, and nowadays no mining activity legally takes place in the asteroid field. Ship construction improvements resulted in transport ships not having to stop for refuels on their way through Orleanais' trade lane system. Romorantin remains a legendary place where descendants of the first Orleanais space settlers still reside, but the port currently has very few shipping contracts to keep it alive. EFL loses billions every year to keep the station operational, and despite the resistance of the local community, the company schedules to scrap the port in 740 AGS or even earlier. Currently, the stations income is primarily derived from sales of Mining Machinery to GMS facilities in Berry, Auvergne, and Provence. The station also houses EFL's only stockpile of Prometheum.

Saint-Quentin Space Colony
Saint-Quentin was opened for colonists in 354 AGS after a lengthy fifteen year construction effort. At that time, it was by far the largest space colony in Gallic space (and possibly in all human space) capable of housing over 9,000 inhabitants. Dense spaces and lack of many amenities did not drive off the colonists, the majority of whom came from Amiens and New Paris, and in less than ten years all quarters within Saint-Quentin were purchased or rented.

The population of the colony consisted mainly of space-based workers and their families. The number of settlers fluctuated from eight thousand to over twenty thousand, reaching its maximum around 500 AGS when massive space construction commenced in Picardy. The population had been declining for two hundred years before the Second Gallic War. After the War started, Saint-Quentin became a refuge for those who fled Planet Marne and Champagne's stations captured by the Council. Over the last fifteen years, four thousand new inhabitants have come to Saint-Quentin.
