There was something universal about old men and baby's. Jim never had a problem getting a child's attention.. (he was always sort of nervous around kids..maybe they sensed this) small children and.. seemingly small domesticated animals where well tempered around him at least to start.
"Shes got that look john.. this ones going to be too smart..." he couldn't help but smile at the child and for a moment he wished he was younger. Possibly made a few different decisions about his own son.. It was a long story he might tell john when the mood wouldn't suffer the tale...
"Theres a thought.. how are the schools here?.. Thats another thing Ive been wanting to urgently invest in, I saw some of the classical school houses On Erie and even in those modular schools the classes were small and there weren't screaming children anywhere. It was like being in a temple... amazingly well adjusted youth." he remarked.
"Thank you for your support. I was going to have the ship operate on a trust with you as the trustor... I can be a trustee and executor the actions of it and the benefiters would be zoners and junkers and anyone in need... Sorta like a charity but you have control over the trust. which is important cause.. Well... I am nearly 60 after all. I'd like to think it will continue with the volunteers and doctors I get on board the Estium whens shes done." He stretched.
"John your family is the envy of this old man... And if you know the staff at the medical center bother who you know and this mans corpse will be there ready and wincing." He grinned.
uncharacteristically tinny. the android chimed in. "Sir, its often beneficial to not dread your medical appointments."
he scowled at the machine..knowing that was a line from one of his own books about the phobias of medical care.
