And I suppose that rule was not violated.
Use of F1 in space is officially prohibited so I see a reason for potential ban. SF leaders should take care about this situation.

I agree with Dab that this rule of engagement should be abolished. What if I just want to kill him next time? Do I have to ask his permission? If I asked straight away for money he would've been off down the trade lane while I was typing. As it happened, I first had to hack the trade lane and fire a cruise disruptor to stop him escaping, and while doing that I shot down his shields for good measure. Quite a good move, I thought, and then the transport disappeared before my eyes.
I think players should be free to resolve situations between themselves without being told what to do.

This would only remove the options menu while in space.
Also, about alt-F4 - I don't think this is a safe way of quitting the server while under attack, as the character doesn't immediately disappear. I may be wrong, it may depend on server settings - I'll test it with someone if I get a chance.
Role-played characters:

bandersnatch - Ruthless criminal possessed by a (huge) alien
Shredder - Small-time Kusari pirate, looking to join the Blood Dragons
