"It's not wrong to keep sight of one's own ideals. But I see your point." John responded. "And I agree. Had we built a station there instead of a few daredevils chancing to repressurise a derelict battleship, it might well have been called Klondike. Yet economic warfare can be difficult with the BMM, especially on their home turf. We try and compete, but even with the Mollies favoring us over the BMM, we're simply hard pressed to be able to be an effective alternative to the BMM's large scale operations. Out here in the Taus they made the critical misstake of angering Kusari, but in Dublin, and to a lesser extent in Leeds, Manchester, Omega 3 and New London, the BMM operations are largely unchallenged. Leeds is a prime example why that Bretonian policy is a bad one, and as you indicated, roughly 20% of Bretonia feels likewise."
John paused, glancing to Elizabeth. "As I recall there's no love lost between the Colonial Republic and BMM, seeing that if they'd have had their way, your home system would likely have become a mining colony of theirs. What are your thoughts on this matter, miss Branwen?"
