Its another typical case of discovery (this time mining locations) contradicting human nature and what you expect people to do.

If you dont want miners to seek protection near a ship they know will protect them from pirates (which they would also do so in any RP logical RP situation), either:

A) Dont put a battleship where any sane person is going to go rather than let himself get blown up (or rather, dont put the best mining spot near there)

B) If the Brets are going to chase miners away from there, at least do it with some sort of logical RP

Instead, you put a bowl of meat in front of a dog, and then beat him and call him stupid when he tries to eat it.
