Maybe the pirate shouldnt have let him get there?

Why should the miner leave the system although he is in no danger of dying?

Its totally unrealistic to expect him to do that.

In my rules reform (see he links in my sig), I proposed a rule that makes this exception to the fleeing rule:

Moving away 10k does not count as a pvp death if the enemy is hiding at a base.

This allows the pirate to leave the base-hugging trader without having to leave the system.

I never said anywhere that I wanted miners to dock and then have to leave the system and count as fleeing. The part I have put in bold would be what I want.
