They do not dock as that is running,and death. Death means no mining for many hours. So pirate leaves,and miner is safe cause now Pirate ran away.
Simple solution. At 12-13K from base the pirate stops.Miners gets to BS,and guess what? over 10K so he has fled. Pirates are dum,and chase to BS,or 5-6K from it. If they stopped as i said the Miner has fled,and cannot mine,has to log/leave system.
If pirate whines? to dam bad. Stop miner before he gets to safety. My miner has never died,now payed a single Pirate in Dublin,or Tau-23. Thrust,and fire rear gives you 20K easy. Pirates who do it alone are just stupid unless a long way from safety.

As ive said, sometimes the miner simply cannot be stopped within the realm if the possible.
As for the stopping before the miner gets to the essex, that doesnt work either.
They stop and hold at 9k.
If you mine all the time in Dublin, and have never paid a single pirate, i think taht illustrates exactly what we're talking about.
The way mining fields are set up, pirates have to group together, exactly the opposite of the way it is everywhere else.
