Final Patrol days
With the Vigilance back up and running and a surprise promotion in line, we set out on our long awaited final patrol day. It had its ups and downs.
Keeping to New Berlin, on our way to Stuttgart, we ran into a Hessian ID: [RHA]Messerschmidt and a Mercenary ID: Viva.Velasquez. The Hessian offered the Mercenary to assist him in attacking him, and, being a Freelancer, I tried a bit of tact and doubled his offer. The Mercenary has already made up his mind. Ten minutes into the battle, we found that even with our armor and runs, the two were flying a perfect hit and run on us, preventing us from focusing our attacks. Those Eagle fighters are more maneuverable than I first thought. Before things became too critical, we called out for assistance and we finally heard from _=Sicarius=_, and gave our location and hoped for the best. It turned out to be a Rheinland Gunboat! We instructed it to keep the pressure on that Mercenary and another Hessian who entered the fray [RHA]Lukas.Fauler[i]. With enough Missile barrages, the [i] [RHA]Messerschmidtwent down. The Mercenary and Hessian fighter, surmised that with their bomber gone, the fight was over and eventually fled.
My most sincere thanks to the captain of the _=Sicarius=_. Without his help, we wouldn't have made it.
Now for the downs. On a final patrol of New Berlin, we ran into, of all things a Coalition Bomber ID: SCRA|Rhade's.Resolution. Between the local recruit patrols and us, we felt we had it under control, but soon another Hessian in a Maffiac miner ship ID: [RHA]Spitzhacke joined the battle. If there was any doubt the SCRA and the Hessians were working together, I hope this opens some eyes. This wasn't a common enemy issue, it was a deliberate joint venture. We requested help from a near by autonomous defense drone and they responded, then both seemed to drift away. This was quickly becoming like the situation before. With two heavily outfitted bombers, we weren't lasting long out there and made an emergency landing at the Ring station.
I've been informed to let you know why Adam Spire commissioned his efforts within the realm of Rheinland. He suspects that and old sect of the Sol's system Collation is slowly making its way into House territory and enlisting the assistance of unlawful house factions to secure their positions further into Sirius. He also believes that certain elements of Sirius have already given aid to the rising forces of the SCRA and only getting worse. We have only events like this to support this, but the Hessians would like nothing more than a full blown military backing its efforts. We'll keep you informed. From now on, we're Freelancing.
