She listened in complete silence, watching Xiabei's an Alvarez' conversation with a blank expression. As soon as Alvarez turned his attention to her, she snapped off a salute out of habit and replied, "Da. We'll be back before you even realize that you miss us, Comrade Alvarez."

The man smirked slightly, then did an about face and headed away. She did the same in the opposite direction, heading into the ship with the mad scientist in tow; he was mumbling to himself in the usual way every time one of his gizmos was activated.

"Calm yourself, Doctor. We're going to be making history."

"No, we're destroying history."

She ignored his comment, "Make sure everything is ready. I want you to triple-check the device before I activate it. I think failure is not an option for this scenario. And if it does fail, how fitting a punishment than to be vaporized along with the comrades you failed so horribly?"

He stared right at her and gave a comical, sarcastic laugh. Her lips pulled back in a grimace and he immediately shut up.

Her boots clicked across the ancient deck plating of the relic. Xiabei had since departed from her company, something she was thankful for. Upon entering it, she found that the bridge was archaic compared to the luxury that the bridge of the Marx offered, even the old Social Credit. The utilitarian design of the craft seemed inhuman compared to what the usual Coalition crafts had for creature comfort. The seats must have been made out of metal, for cushions made of leather and fiber fill had been hastily screwed to the seat and backrest.

Men and women busied themselves over the controls and systems, getting adjusted to the older control scheme. Not interfering, Angelica sat down in the most prominent seat centered in the middle of the room. She immediately sat and keyed one of the buttons placed on the armrest. The PA system chirped in response.

She spoke into the microphone, "All crew, we are embarking in one hour. In that time, I want you to double check your systems and then head to the living quarters. On each of your bunks, you will find uniforms and weaponry that is reminiscent of our ancestors of old. Anyone not wearing the replica uniforms will be shot on sight. That is all."

She had already dressed in her uniform, finding the colors and overall design very comfortable. Perhaps if she asked Alvin to make it the new Admiral uniform, she would change the Coalition in a way that better suits her. Literally.
