Remnants and Fallout

The bolt on Ian's rifle stopped moving. This was not good, mostly beacuse he was still pulling the trigger.
He mumbled to himself as he yanked on the recieving handle, trying to clear the jam as Alliance bullets and the occasional laser blast flew past his head.
"Stupid...piece of ancient...Coalition...junk."
The bolt snapped. Ian looked at it in disbelief.
"Liou coe shway duh biaotze huh-Ricardo!"
Holmes looked to his right just in time to get sprayed with bits of brain as a cherry red laser melted Ricardo's face off.
He shrugged and picked up Ricardo's rifle, flipping the selector to rock-n-roll and dropping a full clip down the corridor.
"Federov, frag on my mark!"
The now-empty magazine clanged as it hit the floor, followed shortly by the ignition pin of a flashbang.
"Mark!"
Two grenades arced through the air.
"Waterfall, waterfall, now!"
Ian raced down the corridor five metres, slamming home another clip as the smoke-filled corridor behind him filled first with a bright flash of light and a resounding bang, then the screams of the wounded.
He turned and dropped in the same movement, putting another full clip downrange as Federov ran past, unable to see if anything was even following through the smoke and the thick smell of cordite.
Nothing moved.
The not moving continued.
Good. I might have a few seconds.
"Federov, set up at the last turn. Ai'll be along, sae dun shoot me, ya hear?"
Ian slung his pack around and extracted a small grey-green box.
Legs swiveled out from the box as Holmes set it down upright, hidden behind a extruding pipe.
He pulled the cord and turned on the motion sensor, arming the claymore.
Shots rang out as some uppity Alliance soldier pushed through the smoke. Ian dropped him with a burst and got a fusilade of automatic bullets for his trouble.
He keyed his TAC-COM as he dropped around the corner behind Federov.
"Captain Ling, sah, it's a mite busy up here, an' we don' hae any noice blast doors tae slow 'em down. Only bout twenty more metres 'fore we'll be droppin' intae yer laps."
A deep thud resounded, followed by a thousand tiny pings as the claymore blew and sent bearings scattering down the corridor, answered by a series of chakkachakka as the Alliance responded.
A bullet pinged off the wall in front of him, peppering his face with fragments. He slid his rifle around corner and emptied another clip into a pair of impertinent Alliance soldiers.
"Ah, sah, i recommend goin' now. We wait much longer, won't be any men 'live tae take engineering."
Federov grunted and fell backwards, wheezing for a moment through a series of sucking chest wounds before going limp.
Ian holstered his radio and grabbed his last flash and frag, pulling the pins with his teeth.
One....Two...Threee..FO-
He tossed them round the corner, grabbed Federov's rifle and magazines and trotted off.
The corridor screamed with crash, and blood splattered the walls as the grenades exploded, but the remenants of an Alliance squad walked on through the carnage, intent on their prey.
