As far as receiving credits from RepEx, I can envision something like this:
RepEx has some type of falling out with their current bankers, and are transferring their accounts from Planet New Berlin to Planet Holstein. Due to a breach in corporate security, an electronic transfer is highly risky so the decision is made to transfer the funds by means of actual cash (credit cards) on board a non-descript RepEx ship. A Unioner informant in RepEx obtains the id and itinerary of the fund transfer transport and informs Unioner command. A Unioner fighter wing ambushes the RepEx transport, and after nearly destroying it, the pilot jettisons the credits in order to save his life (since actually destroying the ship will likely destroy at least some of that very valuable cargo).
Thus the Unioner's receive a "donation" from RepEx, and also create an ongoing revenge/vendetta storyline between RepEx and the Unioners.
So in other words, the Unioners pull off a major league "bank" robbery in space.
