The Salvager is an awesome support ship in piracy an a a highly armored and higly armed mid-sized transport.

It's one of the savest Transport Vessels, along with the Shire and Akegate - less firepower and cargo, but higher agility.

Along with the rather neutral reputation you can have as Junker, it's one of the best Trading vessels in my opinion.

I wouldn't say it has "no purpose at all". I prefer trading in this over trading in a Stork.
