"Ramming: be careful if you use a small ship to ram a large ship. The small ship will take hull damage."
Seems this is a great idea, I know Cannon is doing a great work with this changes but i have some questions and ideas about
I dont know if someone know that, but, when you are in formation with a capship, you can't avoid unexpected ramming/crash against the big vessel, because you are not in control of your ship, so, this new function could damage the escort wing.
We know that every great ship displaces a large mass, the Capitals also have a huge shield and use a lot of energy, these shields are invisible but are able to repel the shooting of different types of weapons, right?.
According to this reasoning, is not expected that small vessels, which are also equipped with its own shield, are repelled by the force field of the big ship? then, the penetration and damage to this shield can only be achieved with specialized weapons to destroy the shield and hull, respectively, and most of these weapons, if not all, use some sort of energy, neutrons, positrons, laser, antimater, etc.
Maybe it would be possible to use the same principle (currently is in the game) that prevents colliding asteroids or against the solar corona, when using the cruise mode and automatic pilot to avoid hitting the big ships in all cases, that would give to the pilots greater stability and improve the aim of the gunners, making battles more interesting.
