~M a G i C t I m E w A r P~
Tammo watched as the representatives took their seats, with Guildmasters Raikoke and Hoshi Tanaka from the Guild seated to the left, Directors Hokani Mitsuo and Hisoka Masanori of Kishiro to the right, and his own board, with CEO Thomas Mahone and Directors Goth, Clark and Caffery, seated behind him, and the various undermanagers and mid-level representatives seated behind the main tables.
They were all waiting.
They were all waiting for him.
Tammo took a sigh and stepped into the middle of the triangle.
"Gentlemen and Ladies of the Board, Guildmasters, Kishiro Representatives."
He bowed to each in turn, nervous enough to go halfway to the floor.
"We of Interspace have called this meeting with your august organizations, beacuse each of us is suffering."
He paused as eyebrows went up.
"It may not be politic to admit it, but we are all hampered and hamstringed in Sirius's current state. Directors Mitsuo and Masanori, every day Samura gains more, aided by their titan grip on the Kusari throne. Your technology is no match for the sheer political weight they have. Guildmasters, wars throughout Sirius have hampered supply lines, leading to reduced traffic, and thusly reduced profit. We here at Interspace are constantly under political assault as a Liberty company, regardless of our international status."
His eyes were roving, moving on as soon as a connection was established, his voice strident, his hands emphasizing each point.
"All three of our companies have a long and illustrious history together, this very system of Okinawa a testament to that, financed by Interspace, with the fuel extracted by the Guild, and shipped by Kishiro. It was Interspace who arbitrated the end of the Eighty-Years War, the only international body trusted by both sides. Kishiro has designed some of the most advanced freighters and fighters to be found, with mercenaries and pirates alike clamoring for their civilian designs. And it is the expertise of the Guild that supplies all of Sirius with the fuel needed to move their ships, the very basis of intragalactic trade."
McIllheney paused, his face becoming serious, a shadow cast across it by the recessed and dim lighting, his hands now clasped behind his back as he stood straight.
"We all have our own individual problems. Bias, money, technology, politics. All of these interfere with our operations. And yet we all here hold the key to each other's problems, if only we would use them together."
"Kishiro, with the financing provided by Interspace your research and engineering programs could expand exponentially, and you could afford to unleash an entire fleet of trade ships upon Sirius, and use them to ship Guild fuel to the farthest corners of space. And with the money and influence Kishiro and Interspace have, the Guild would never have to worry about politics again, able to operate in a vacuum, free to ship wherever they please. And Interspace would be able to break free of it's shackles as a Liberty-aligned company, securing fresh markets for our insurance and special shipping contracts in Rheinland and Kusari."

He was moving again, pacing back and forth from the Kishiro and Guild table as he addressed them each, his sheer will pouring through his words.
"The combined interests of our three organizations would create a diplomatic and economic superentity, more powerful and influential than any house, with the sheer financial reserves of Interspace, the technology and ships of Kishiro, and the soverign space and goods of the Guild. Together, we could force entire governments to our will, destroy our competitors, and ensure a stable and lucrative market for all. Together, we could achieve the sort of power only kings and tyrants dream of, power over entire markets and economies, the power to do anything, anything at all."
He was overselling it. But it sure as hell sounded damn good, and it wasn't that far from the truth.
"Interspace's proposal is thus. The 5% tax on all h-Fuel will be dropped, and all debts incurred in the construction of Okinawa forgiven. Our three organizations will swap significant amounts of stock, and invest equally in a seperate company to represent our combined interests, very similar to the process by which Ageira and DSE created Interspace. Interspace will grant an infinite zero interest line of credit to Kishiro and the Guild indefinitely, and the political strength of our combined companies will be used to force the Samura-run Kusari government to drop the Liberty embargo, and to force Rheinland to drop the embargo against Interspace. The guild will grant a exclusive contract with Kishiro and Interspace for the exportation of H-fuel, and Interspace will sign over two floors on each of our bases to the Guild and Kishiro individually."
Tammo looked around the room, at the open jaws and staring eyes.
"I realize some of you may be in shock at the sheer size of what I have proposed. Please, take a moment among yourselves to discuss it, and then we shall earnestly begin negotiations and take amendments. When you wish to speak, simply press the red button on your table."
He left the middle of the room, and pressed a button on the wall.
Glass panels slid down, seperating the three tables and allowing the Kishiro and Guild members to discuss the issue in private.
Tammo's chief of security leaned next to him as he sat down.
"Sir, we may have a potential problem."
She described the situation, Tamm's face going hard as he listened.
"If you find them.....don't call the Kusari Police. And make sure to leave nothing behind."
"Understood sir."
She left, a single word floating through Tamm's mind as the door closed.
Hogosha.
