Ashes while you have a point I have to disagree somewhat on the modellers "not willing to do the research". This isn't true because modellers who pick up a task that was started before, unless they literally enlarge the model and slap on some cap turret hardpoints on it, will have an opinion on how to properly progress towards "heavier" ships that will differ from the original modeller. Hell, even modellers who are making the whole line sometimes introduce specific differences into different ships as a design element.
But that is all beyond the point. I would quite frankly be very unhappy with the capital ship line being simply bigger versions of Hessian fighters, or retaining their general T shape with almost religious mania. A capital ship should be heavily armoured, and a Hessian capital ship (background: Hessians are miners and engineers = an emphasis on usability) would probably look more like a mining ship than a ship which was designed to match the looks of the rest of the line. Fighters are one thing, they are basically stripped down and bolted together (as seen by the visible reactors and the general positioning of stuff. The capitals would likely look more like big slabs of metal instead, since they have to be well shielded from both rocks and the excessive firepower their enemies sport. This is my take on it.
Oh and, I'm sorry but I can't resist and I know I am being trolled but:
Quote:I'm sure you can do that while still holding to a ship which is more or less an Osiris.
Osiris is light, this is going to be medium so more like LN bs
1. Why remove the hammer and pickaxe logo? I'd say put it back in, I very much agree with Jinx that battleships are used not just as metal bricks bristling with firepower, but also as symbols of the faction's power. While I did say looks would not be high on the priority list for any engineer designing a battleship for the Hessians, symbolism would probably still mean a lot.
2. I can only agree with others that it could reuse some specific parts from current Hessian models. Not the shape, but for example a bigger and more built up version of the reactor that the fighters used being placed at the sides of the back section near the engine in vertical position like they are on the Loki, possibly well built into the frame so that it shows progression.
3. I really don't see where this model is similar to the Mako, I just don't see it. But, well, I would say adding a vertical wing at the top back of the ship (to simulate the one on the Odin) could fix this? I am not sure myself about this to be honest, but if it will appease all the people who keep saying "oh it looks like a Mako" (it doesn't) then why not...
4. I dunno if the wings on the bottom of the centre section are removed or not, but I would either remove them or make them go parallel to the bottom of the hull so that they don't stand out so much.
That's all that I can think of for now. Sorry if we seem fussy about this but I guess getting the model right and looking proper is a good priority to have.
