"It didn't really feel like there were a lot of other options." He replied. "I was pretty much wanted in every house across Sirius. Every day followed a simple order of running and hiding on different Freeports across the sector." Alex completed the latest modification to the code and the computer ran it.
"Then one day I'm surfing through network connections and find one labelled 'The Intruder' I tore the firewall to pieces, and made all the work Blain had done on the electronic security look like an amateur set-up. I didn't even know what The Society was then. I just thought it was some two-bit pirate with decent computing skills. Then a couple days later Blain finds me and rather than getting angry over me evicerating his security set-up he offers me a job.
"I was feeling like I was at rock bottom and I figured at least with them I'd have some kind of protection from the mercenaries, freelancers, and bounty hunters who wanted me dead. It was supposed to be temporary but... well... they're like family now. And yes I know how cliche that sounds." Alex sighed and waited for the computer to finish doing what he had told it to.
"And what about Hunter? What's his story?" Alex asked.
