No, you too misunderstand the rules regarding piracy. How many times does this have to be repeated?
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE MADE A DEMAND TO SHOOT AT A TRADER AS A PIRATE. ONLY IF YOU KILL HIM

Welll...those are two separate rules.

The pirate cannot ATTACK you without roleplay.
The pirate cannot DESTROY you without asking for money or cargo or a RP request.

Which means he kind of has to role-play before either of those ever come to pass. Which makes that a moot point. You cannot deplete a person's shield below 50 % without role-playing first. Which of course means you cannot kill a person before role-play as obviously to kill them you have to deplete their shield passed 50 % first.
